The attack

Guards and not our guards, the enemy guards! Guards sent by king Doreem. I knew this due to their armor which had a symbol  of wolf head on it, there was one guard in the kitchen standing in front of me. He  was facing the opposite direction while the others were in the count yard . My heart was beating hard against my chest, calm down lia, calm down....I slowly started to back away and soon was running to my chambers when a hand gripped my arm and whirled me around. I stifled my cry and desperately tried to break free but the grip was firm.

"Calm down ! Princess"  king cale hissed in my ear , "if you want to live , be silent " he whisper-commanded " do you understand?"

I nodded.

"Now let go of me! " I hissed.

He slowly let go of my arm and beckoned me to follow him. We silently crept through the corridors and finally reached a library. I didn't question him when he pulled something and a secret passageway came into view showing a staircase leading downwards. I slowly descended down the stairs. It was so silent. The only sound was of our footsteps .The silence was as if the very air held its breath. A gust of cold air blew towards me and I winced as my body froze. I was still in my night gown! I silently cursed myself for changing my traveling clothes, King Cale glanced towards me and on noticing what I was wearing, he took off his cloak and handed it to me. I immediately wrapped it tightly around myself and sighed. Well at least he has some remnants of a soul inside him.

As the staircase came to an end, the air smelled of the ocean and I could hear the sound of waves crashing against the shore, there was a boat moored to a stone post. I could now hear the guards running down, the king immediately grabbed me by the wrist and dragged me down towards the shore, he jerked his head towards the boat and said;

"Get in! "

"What? we will be lucky if that thing doesn't collapse around us! It can't carry both of us! " I hissed.

"Get in the boat now, If you want to die go ahead : stay here and if you want to live: lay down and throw the cloak over yourself, now! " I swallowed my pride and slowly laid down. Muttering some curse words at him.

The wood beneath my body was cold and I quickly wrapped the cloak around myself, the boat slowly started to move and king Cale laid down beside me , as far away as he possibly could without falling off the boat. I rolled my eyes even though he couldn't see me.

But I couldn't help the questions bursting in my mind why did they attack us? was Moneria also attacked ? what about my fathe—

"He rejected all of our offers, without even a speck of warning attacked...many people must be dead by now, the army came through the main gates " he whispered but I could hear the clear rage in his voice....... I didn't allowed myself to contemplate what he had said that hundreds of people dead!? While their queen was sleeping, people were dying?

"What about Moneria, what do we do now? "I asked suddenly worried.

"We talk to people in towns and get information on conditions of Moneria, if its safe, I will take you back and if its not we will gather armies and plan the attack . I have alliances in the east with kingdom Romania and tarenth but first i'll take you back to your kingdom if it still exists " . A shudder went through my body- if it exists? No no, this could not be happening! Father no- Is amen alright? I tried to ask more questions from king cale to busy my mind or else I'll go mad. Well considering I already am, I'll go utterly ballistic.
