"Hello, nice to meet you Lieutenant Westfield. My name is Aeron Weber, and I will be your new recruit training partner."

Nora smiled brightly at the young man in front of her. She had already read his profile earlier in the day. His name was Aeron Weber, he was eighteen years old and from the Utopia District, the outlying district on the north end of Wall Rose. His stats show him to be a decent soldier, nothing extraordinary or noteworthy but not terrible either. His Training Corps officers noted that he has an extremely charismatic and likeable personality.

"Nice to meet you too, Aeron! You can just call me Nora, forget the rank, okay?"

"Yes, ma'am," he says politely, brushing some of his auburn brown hair out of his eyes. He had wonderfully mismatched eyes: his right eye was a cross between lilac and blue, sometimes looking a bright  violet in the right lighting. His left eye was a deep mahogany red. His tanned skin brought out how bright and vibrant his right eye was, and Nora couldn't help but stare.

"My ma said I got hit in the eye when I was a kid. Apparently after it healed it turned this color. That's why it's so strange," he says with a laugh, pointing to his right eye.

"It's not strange, it's beautiful," Nora marvels.

"Yours are beautiful too, Nora," he says with a smile. "I'm lucky, I got the pretty girl as my superior. At least I didn't get the horse."

Nora couldn't help but giggle, thinking of her friend. "He's not all that horse like. He neighs in his sleep on occasion, but that's it."

The two chat a little more. They were trying to get to know each other, given the fact they'd be living together for god knows how long. She thought he'd be easy to live with; he was laid back and didn't seem to have many dislikes.

She knew this would be a good match.

"Hey, Nora, I have a question," he says, glancing past her. "Who's that kid over there? I don't think he was in my class." Aeron points at a soldier leaning against a wall talking to Hanji.

She turns on her heel, following Aeron's hand and covering her mouth to suppress her laughter. "That's not a kid," she says between laughs. "That's Captain Levi."

"That's Captain Levi?" he asks in disbelief. "No way, you're messing with me. That short guy can't be Captain Levi."

"He's 32, Aeron. That's Levi."

As if on cue, Levi whips his head in their direction, dismissing Hanji. His eyes narrow, forming a sharp glare at the sight of Nora laughing away. He makes his way over to her, arms crossed on his muscular chest, practically surrounded by a cloak of anger.

"Who the fuck are you?" Levi asks quickly, looking at the recruit.

"Aeron Weber, new recruit. I'm Nora's partner," he says, one side of his mouth curling up in a smile. "Speaking of that, Nora, what room are you in? I want to start moving my things into your- I guess our- room."

Levi practically twitched at his words. "Ah, third floor, make a left, go down the hall past the supply room. I'm the third door on the right after that," she answers, putting her hand on her chin. "I don't remember my room number yet, I'm sorry."

"So, our room is towards the West?" he asks. She nods. "I guess it's fitting. We'll overlook the west field. Not to mention, the sun sets in the west. Tonight should be a beautiful night!" he says with a smile.

"It will be!" she smiles back. "My name should be on the door already. Your nameplate should be in the trunk with all of your gear. Add it to the door when you get a chance. There should be a hammer and some nails in the supply room."
