I'm sorry for my empty compliment.
There was so little time between the"hey, you look great!",
and " it was nice seeing you here."
That's not enough time to stifle the burning flame caught between our gaze.
I had so much to say, but between my thoughts and the hollowness of just
"great",
my words were drowning.
Between the last time you stood in front of me
and now,
I felt every bit of emotion and asked every question.
But here's my next empty sentence:"We should catch up over coffee!"
But what I meant to say between that, was:
"There's not a day where I haven't thought about you and I still miss you."
But Between now
and the next time I'll never see you again, a venti non-fat vanilla iced chai tea latte will do just fine.
