"But why?" Emil sat on the waiting chair in the medical clinic. Matthias felt his eye slightly twitch. Why was he left to deal with his boyfriend's little brother?

"Because Lukas has health issues and needs a regular check-up every year." Matthias explains again.

"But-" Emil starts and Matthias turns to him.

"Emil." Lukas had finished his check-up and walked out to come across the pair.

"Big brother!" Emil jumped up and hugged his brother's hips. Matthias stood up and walked over to the two pale boys. 

"Everything fine?" Matthias asked on the way out to the car.

"Always the same." Lukas muttered in irritation.

"We should get licorice." Emil stated as Matthias fixes his seat belt on his baby seat. Poor Emil was too small to be out of a car seat.

"Why?" Matthias asked.

"Because Lukas is healthy." Emil looked out the window. Matthias and Lukas share a look and Matthias sighed.

"So because Lukas is healthy, you should get licorice?" Matthias clarified.

"Yep." Emil said and Lukas snickered.

"I think it seems fair enough." Lukas said in his little brother's defence.

"Alright." Matthias said.

Matthias sighed as he sat in a chair with Emil next to him. It was teacher-parent interview.

"Lukas'll be here soon he's just been caught up with work." Matthias said. He glanced down at the six-year-old albino next to him. Emil shoved another piece of licorice in his mouth as his Puffin plushie sat in his lap. Matthias frowned at the black food, how did the boy eat that stuff? If it was flavoured licorice he could understand, but black licorice? Matthias gagged at the thought of the disgusting 'treat.' 

"I'm sorry for being late." Lukas swiftly walked in and sat down. He was wearing his nurse garments still. Matthias could see that by Lukas' messy hair and flushed face the twenty-six-year-old had ran to the classroom where the teacher was.

"it's fine Mr. Bondevik, I understand we all have extra responsibilities." The teacher said.

"Emil!" Matthias called out. The little boy had disappeared while they were shopping.

"Emil!" Lukas called out as well. Matthias noticed how panicked his boyfriend looked, which caused Matthias to start to panic even more.

"I believe this must be the Emil you're calling out for." A British man appeared with Emil.

"Arthur!" Lukas and Matthias exclaimed at the same time. Arthur chuckled and handed over the little boy. Alfred walked up beside Arthur with Leon on his shoulders as Arthur also held Peter on his hip.

Lukas picked up Emil in a large hug before whispering something causing Emil to start crying out apologies left, right and centre.

Lukas sat on the bottom step and listened as Matthias lectured the young boy. Everything went silent and finally the two of them walked out from the office and Matthias crossed his arms looking down at the young boy.

"Sorry Lukas for running off and not telling you or Matthias." Emil apologised and Lukas stood up smiling and walked over to him as he pecked his forehead.

"Alright off to bed now. I'll be up soon to tuck you in." Lukas said. Emil nodded and hurried upstairs as Lukas leant on Matthias' chest. The taller gently held him.

"Thanks for doing that, I'd do it myself but you know I can't stay angry at him long enough." Lukas mumbled and Matthias chuckled.

"Yeah it's so hard to stay angry at him. Next time he does something bad at school you're dealing with it though. I can't be the bad guy all the time." Matthias said as Lukas stepped back. The smaller nodded and a small smile graced his face before disappearing again.
