Maka’s mouth practically hit the floor in shock. “WHAT IS GOING ON HERE?!” She screamed. Soul laughed and put a hand on her shoulder.
“Well, Stein obviously knows that Saiko is his daughter, so he wants her to live with him. Not that hard to understand.” Maka gave him a death glare.
“Since when is Saiko Stein’s daughter?!” She asked, looking in between the two.
“Since I was born.” Saiko smiled. “Duh. But my mother never told me. Then she died and I found this book and inside was that unmailed letter. Understand now?” Maka ran a hand through her hair.
“Why didn’t you tell us?” She asked, sounding sad.
“Because I wasn’t sure I wanted to except it myself. I was scared, my mother always putting ideas in my head. She was scared too.” Saiko looked to Stein. “But I’m not scared anymore.”
“Well.” Stein reached up to adjust his screw. “Pack some of your things now and we can come back after class tomorrow to get the rest. Sound good?” Saiko looked down at the ground. “What is it?
“I- Well I don’t think I can just up and leave this place. I’ve lived here my entire life. I guess I just need some time.”
“Professor?” Maka asked, watching them go. “How long have you known Saiko was your daughter.”
“Not that long, really. I always knew I had a daughter, but I never really knew it was Saiko until she told me when the letter was sent to her father. I got that letter and went to get here, but she was gone.” He shrugged. “But it seems like everything is working itself out.”
Kirā smiled at Stein. “You have to take some of the cake we made. It is absolutely amazingly amazing and you will love it!” Stein raised an eyebrow.
“Sorry, but I’m not really a cake person.” Kirā’s face fell and Stein sighed. “Fine. One piece.” Kirā squealed and jumped up, sprinting into the kitchen and packing him a piece. “I’ll take it home with me. Will I be expecting you at school?” He asked, as he headed to the door.
“Probably. Don’t see why not.” Saiko told him. He smiled down at her, saying goodnight before disappearing, cake in hand.
Saiko closed the door and turned back to Maka and Soul Saiko sighed.
“I guess you want me to explain more, don’t you?” She looked to the floor.
“Why didn’t you tell us before? you can trust us.”
“Well Maka I didn’t know how you’d react. The only reason I came back to the academy is.” she paused “Is because i actually want to try and make some friends not because I wanted to see Stein.” Maka looked at Kirā who was leaning against the wall.
“I have a different question.” She smiled at him. “How did you and Kirā meet exactly?” This caught them both off guard, Kirā chuckled.
“Well.” Saiko started. “It all happen a month after my mom died I was trying to find a store that I could get food with the little money I had.”
Kirā looked over to Saiko, a pleading look on his face. “Can I tell it? Please please pleeeeease?!?” Saiko rolled her eyes but nodded. “Well, it was your average chiche dark and stormy night.
I was walking down the street. “Uggg, four days and I haven’t found any souls to eat. Man, that academy sure does it’s job of getting all those evil souls.” Suddenly I heard a loud roar and a scream come from the other ally. I acted quickly and dashed toward the source to find a man who wasn't a man anymore. I saw Saiko trying to fight him off her self but at the time wasn’t experienced enough to fight effectively against but she was doing a good job trying.
