Saiko and Kirā stared, wide eyed and confused, at Lord Death. “W-What?” Kirā finally blurted after a few shocked moments. “Please, tell me I heard you wrong.” His face was pale, his hands curled into fists.

“I hope not, I said that your sister is here and a witch is going to destroy the moon.” Lord Death’s happy attitude made Saiko’s head snap up.

“What the hell is your problem?!” She screamed, tears in her eyes. “You’re always so damn happy! If the moon is destroyed, then we’ll all die! And now Kirā’s sister is here, after she abandoned him as a child?! He had nothing, absolutely nothing! And she just left him on the streets because he would bring shame to her family!” Death looked at her, completely shocked at her sudden outburst. “How is this city even standing, the way you run it! I’m done, my mother was right about everything. This school is just a death trap, waiting to explode and devour this entire city.” Kirā grabbed her shaking shoulder and turned her towards him.

“Saiko.” He whispered as she collapsed into his arms, shaking and crying uncontrollably. “Breath. Come on, it’s alright.” He cooed, holding her up.

“B-But it’s not.” She slowly fell silent. Lord Death just watched. Taking a breath, she untangled herself from her weapon, her best friend and the only one who cared about her. “Come on, I can’t just sit here when I know that Maeko is here, looking for you.” She grabbed Kirā’s hand and started to walk away, but he wouldn’t move.

“S-Saiko. I can’t.” He told her, a pained look on his face. “I have to see her. It’s been too long.” Saiko nodded, but let go of his hand and left the Death Room.

“Kirā, are you alright?” Lord Death asked. He turned to him, a determined look on his face.

“We’ll do it. We will help you kill the witch.” Death nodded. Then Spirit burst into the room.

“DEATH! I THINK THAT KIRĀ IS HITTING ON MY BABY GIRL MAKA!!!” Kirā looked dumbstruck. “He-He was talking to her earlier and-” He stopped. Looking to his left, he finally noticed Kirā’s presence. “Oh, um, hi.” He mumbled, slightly embarrassed.

“I’m pretty sure I wasn’t hitting on Maka. And she’s your daughter?” Kirā laughed, happy for the random interruption. “Well, I’ll leave you two to your complaining about people hitting on Maka. Bai.” He quickly grabbed his bag and dashed out.

“Well.” Lord Death chuckled. “That was interesting.”

Kirā walked down the front stairs, his hands stuffed in his pockets and his eyes on the ground. “Kirā! Come here!” Maka called. Kirā looked up and saw Soul, Maka, Kid, Liz, Patty, Black Star, Tsubaki, Crona -with Ragnarok jutting out of his back- and Saiko crowded around the shining purple bike. “Where have you been?” She smiled. Kirā shrugged, his normal smile nowhere in sight.

“Saiko, you good?” He said under his breath. She nodded and forced a smile. She took a step closer to him.

“Did you see the devil you call a sister?” She hissed, trying to be quiet enough so that the rest of the group didn’t hear, but failed.

“Wait, Kirā has a sister? Bet she’s not as awesome as me!” Black Star laughed loudly. Everyone fell silent and stared.

“You have a sister?” Maka asked. “Ooo! Can we meet her? Is she nice? What’s her name? What does she look like? Does she live close?” A huge smile spread across her face. Saiko scowled.

“Yes, No, no she’s a devil, her name is Maeko, and yes, but she can drop dead for we care.” Soul laughed. Maka hit him with a book.

“Any backstory?” Tsubaki asked. Kirā answered before Saiko could start swearing.
