Chapter 20

Kimberley's POV

It's been a good day so far I've met most of the other teachers and the kids are a little restless but over all lovely to teach. One of the teacher I met Shelly seemed quite weird around me and there was something about her that I couldn't quite put my finger on, like I knew her from somewhere but at the same time she was stranger and I also think she's given me a fake name because I've asked around what shelly teaches and they keep saying there is no shelly. Also, I haven't seen cheryl yet. Would I recognise her? I didn't recognise nadine in the café and she has hardly changed.. Maybe cheryl doesn't work Mondays.

-on the phone-

"Hello is this Kimberley Walsh, Justin's mother?"

"Yes it is, who's asking?"

"The nursery he attends, I was wondering if you knew that it is closed on Tuesday, we sent a letter home just before you arrived here."

"Oh well no, I didn't. I guess I'll have to call in sick tomorrow, but thanks for letting me know all the same."

"You're welcome, goodbye"

"Yeah bye"

Great. Now I've got to call in sick on my 2nd day. There's a knock on the door, and in walks Nadine with Sarah.

"Sarah! It's been ages! How've you been?" I ask hugging her the Nadine.

"I know! I've been fine thanks and you? I own a bar in town, you need come up with Nads one day!" She replies grinning like a fool.

"I've been good thanks, that's great! Of course we will. There's a little someone I want you to meet. Justin!" I call my son in the living room to meet Sarah. He comes running in with his Spider-Man figurine. He smiles shyly at Sarah, then when he notices nads he runs up to her and jumps on her lap.

"Diney!" He screams happily.

"Justin! This is Sarah, she used to be best friends with your mum before you were born." She informs him.

"Sawah!" Justin tries to say.

"Hello little man!" Sarah replies waving.

"You're pretty." He mumbles smiling suddenly shy again.

"Thankyou!" She smiles back.

"So, has nadine told you chez works at the school?"

"Yes, but I haven't seen her actually." I take a deep breath before adding

"But to be honest, I'm not sure if I want to, i know that I will eventually but, you know, if i didn't have to I wouldn't."

"What? I saw you talking to her earlier in the corridor!" Nadine protests her eyes wide.

"Well.. That wasnt me or it wasn't her. Honestly I haven't seen her."

"It was definitely you two, I think you asked for directions or something."

"I asked quite a few people for directions nads."

"And one of them was cheryl." She says very matter of factly

"I'll show you her tomorrow, I guess she has changed quite a bit, but it was her I swear."

"Whatever you say." I sigh in defeat, not bothering to keep the disagreement going.

"So, would you like a drink of anything I forgot to ask." I ask my two ex best friends.

"Yes please ill have a water, thanks." Nadine requests.

"I'll have the same please, wait what time is it?" Sarah chips in.

"10 past 7." I reply.

"Oh god! I'm 10 minutes late, time flies eh, anyway best be off. Good to see you Kim. Bye little J. Ill text you, nadine gave me your number, b..." Sarah rushes off her last few words cut off. Justin suddenly starts crying very loudly.

"Hey Justin what's all this babe?" I shush him hopelessly, and he carries on crying his head off yawning in between sobs.

"Looks like someone's tired." Nadine adds, then yawns herself.

"Looks like someone else is too." I laugh at the pair of them.

"It's them kids kim! They run me off my feet!"

"Don't they just haha. Go home and get some sleep, ill see you tomorrow."

"Yeah okay then. Bye Justin. I'll be showing you chez too." Nadine tells me not letting the whole not recognising cheryl thing go.

"Okay okay whatever babes bye." I groan closing the door after she leaves.
