(Saitama's POV)
I was walking beside Genos after we had finished the meeting at the Hero's Association HQ. That meeting was just about image and such. So, it was boring. Image doesn't mean anything to me. As long as you're trying to make a difference than what does image matter? Anyway, I wonder how (Reader) is doing?
"Hey, Genos?"
"Yes, Saitama-sensei?" Genos replied.
"Do you think (Reader)'s okay? We left her at home for quite a while."
I placed my hands behind my head and held my elbows in the air, leaning my head back on them. Genos walked beside me in silence.
"Ya know, she promised us Katsudon?" I said, trying to make another conversations with him.
Again, no reply.
"It would be nice to actually make a conversation with you, Genos." I said, letting my arms drop to my sides.
"Sorry, Saitama-sensei. I was just thinking." He finally replied.
"And you don't do enough of that already?" I asked sarcastically.
So clearly Genos' thoughts were somewhere else. For once, he's not paying attention. I honestly couldn't wait to get back home and enjoy some nice dinner with (Reader) and Genos. The thought of (Reader) wearing something adorable and sexy, handing out the dinner plates with delicious food presented nicely on top. It was enough to make me drool.
"Sensei, we're almost home." Said Genos.
He snapped me out of my thoughts. I hadn't realised that we were almost there. We walked up to the front door and I grabbed onto the handle, twisting it and pushing the door open.
"(Reader)! We're ho-" I stopped mid-sentence to see the apartment trashed.
Genos and I stood around with faces of shock and horror. Genos saw the Katsudon boiling over and rushed to it's aid. I walked further into the apartment and into the living room. I looked down at the flipped over table that was half-way across the room. I then looked up to see a large hole in my wall. Someone's gonna pay for that!
"Where's (Reader)!?" I yelled with worry.
"I cannot sense her anywhere, sensei." Genos replied, checking his scanners.
"Damn it! Why'd we leave her alone?!"
I slumped to my knees, trying to think of something to do. Could she be dead? I don't want to even think of the possibilities. But there's always a chance that we were just a few minutes too late.
"We should report this to the Hero's Association." Genos said.
"What? We're meant to be hero's, Genos. We can do it ourselves." I replied.
"They might be able to find her faster than we can, sensei."
I sighed. I'd prefer to keep our private life a secret, even from the Hero's Association, but I guess there's no choice when (Reader)'s life is at risk.
"Fine. But you're gonna have to explain the situation to them. They probably won't listen to me." I said.
Genos and I left the apartment and ran back to the Hero's Association HQ to bring in our 'missing person's case'.
