The next day I woke up to a text from Liam, "Hey I'm going to pick you up for school and I'm not taking no for an answer;)" I smiled down at the simple sentence.
I then got up and took a shower. Today I decided to look for something mildly decent to wear which was harder than it looked. Eventually I decided just to wear a light grey V-neck and some black skinny jeans. I concentrated on my makeup this morning wanting to look a little more 'girly' for whatever reason..okay for Liam but that's beside the point. I did natural looking brown smokey eye with a winged liner and some nude lipstick. I curled the frizzy parts in my hair and then looking in the mirror, "I look great" I said posing for myself grinning.
"Oh yes, yes you do" Liam said leaning in my doorway smirking crookedly. I think this was the end for me, I wanted to just jump out of a window; maybe even take a long walk off of a short peer as long as it meant I wouldn't have to be here. "You weren't suppose to see that" I said blushing wildly making him chuckle, "I thought it was cute" he shrugged smiling causing me to blush even deeper.
"Come on tomato, we're going to be late" he laughed and I nodded not wanting to speak for fear that my voice would squeak. "And where do you think you're going missy?" Cami said standing at the door tapping her foot and crossing her arms over her chest, oh great. "We're just going to school chill" I say stepping around her, "Mhmm well listen here bucko" she said poking Liam's chest with her finger as his eyes widened. "If you dare hurt my bestfriend like the last guy did I will hunt you down and rip your guts out with my bare--"
I cut her off by dragging Liam away. "Bye Cami!" I yelled before slamming the door in her face. As soon as the door shut I busted out laughing. "That's not funny, she wants to murder me!" Liam said trying to be serious but by the end of it he was laughing a little too. "Don't worry, just don't break my heart and we'll be fine" I joked not really paying attention to what I had just said. "I would never" he muttered and I almost didn't hear him.
I ignored the comment and got into the car trying to shake off the nervous feeling that came upon my stomach. On the ride to school he told me that he was going to try out for the football team. "That's great" I said smiling. "Thanks, I don't know if I'll be good enough though. I haven't played since last semester and I'm a little rusty." he said frowning as he pulled into an empty parking space but I just smiled warmly at him, "You'll be great, I just know it".
As he shut the car off we shared a moment, it was brief but meaningful as we stared into each other's eyes. "Did you know that your eyes have little specks of green in them?" he whispered and I shook my head, "Well you do and it looks really pretty" he said as his cheeks reddened. "We should go" I whispered mesmerized by him. He frowned but nodded as he looked away and got out of the car.
"I'll see you at lunch okay?" I smiled and he nodded trying to fake a smile but it didn't reach his eyes. I wrapped my arms around him for a quick hug and he pulled me closer and tighter. "I have to go to class" I said giggling a little and he snapped back into reality, "Sorry" he muttered embarrassed.
During home room I noticed a lot of kids were whispering back and forth and I couldn't understand why until a note was passed to me by one of the jocks adjacent to me, Tim. "Open it" he whispered and I gave him that "Nah dip Sherlock" look and he smiled sheepishly. I unraveled the note quietly and read the contents in my head,
"Party at Justin Hughes' house tonight at 8, FREE BEER" is what it read and I rolled my eyes at the immaturity of the last part. "So?" Tim whispered and I looked at him with confusion, "so what?". "So are you coming or not?" He asked a little impatiently and I shook my head, there's no way I could go.

"But you have to go!" Cami whined. It was now lunch time and Cami was talking my ear off about why we should go. Apparently in her physics class she had gotten the same invitation and being the person that she was, she accepted.
