-DIANA'S POV-
Dean puts on a pair of goggles and a pair of gloves. He adjusts the goggles and picks up the joy buzzer. He looks at the joy buzzer for a moment, then turns to Sam and I. "You guys ready?"
"Hit it, Mr. Wizard."
Sam holds a pair of goggles to his eyes and I'm wearing another pair.
There is a large uncooked ham in two stacked aluminum-foil pans sitting on the table in front of Dean.
Dean holds the joy buzzer over the ham, hesitates, and presses it to the ham. Instantly electricity crackles and steam rises from the ham as it changes color. "Whoa." I whisper in awe.
When the ham is blackened, Dean removes the joy buzzer. We lower our goggles and gawk as the ham sizzles. Dean smiles. "That'll do, pig."
"What the hell?"
Dean takes off the goggles, still staring at the now-cooked ham.
"That crap isn't supposed to work." I say and stare at the joy buzzer.
Dean holds it up. "This thing doesn't even have batteries." he carefully sets it back down and takes off the gloves.
"So...so, what? Are-are we looking at cursed objects?" Sam looks at the joy buzzer then the ham.
"Sounds good." Dean pulls out a knife, flips it open, and cuts a piece off the ham. "Maybe there's a powerful witch in town." he eats the piece of ham.
"Is there any link between the, uh, the joy buzzer and the itching powder?" I ask.
"Uh, one was made in China, the other Mexico, but they were both bought from the same store." Sam answers.
Dean cuts off another piece of ham. "Hmm."
I hold out my hand. "Hey, give me some." Dean smiles and cuts me a piece. Sam shakes his head as he watches us eat the ham.
As Sam and Dean start to leave I call out. "Hey, wait."
Sam pauses with Dean. "What is it?"
I chew my lip. "I'm going to be at the shooting range, you know, to practice." I smiled. "Just wanted to let you know...mother hens."
Sam chuckled. "See ya Di."
"Don't kill anybody unless you need to!" Dean smiles as he closes the door.
I waited a couple of seconds to hear the engine fade, then jumped off the couch I was sitting on and grabbed my backpack. I wasn't going to the shooting range.
I grabbed 3 days worth of food, a knife, spare pair of clothes, a book, my phone and stuffed those in the backpack. I locked the door and flew.
Suddenly I'm standing in the middle of a clearance in a forest. This is where I've been training for the last couple of days. Sam and Dean don't know about this and what I do here. I don't even think Cas knows about it.
I set my backpack down next to a log and step back a couple of paces. After a moment, I concentrate and slowly lift the backpack off the ground a couple of feet with my mind.
I let out a slight chuckle as I pick up the log up too. I slowly moved random objects around a bit, then sat down to munch on an apple for a couple of minutes and listen to the message Sam gave me about the case.
Over the past couple of days, I've been working on my powers. I think my empath power is still there, I don't use often though. I'm been working on the moving objects with my mind. I even tried to throw a couple of knives at a tree with my mind.
