Adrian
Everything was pleasant as he slept. He was dreaming of a peaceful scene in a meadow and living in a cabin. With a nice lover that greeted him in bed. It made him smile in his sleep.
"WHAT THE FUCK!"
The yell shocked him into waking up. He jolted up into a sitting position. Letting out a yelp when he feels a crick in his neck. "I should've taken a pillow." he mumbled as he looked up.
The look on the boy's face was hilarious. His face was bright red, his eyebrows knotted together, and his mouth looked like a messed up form of a growl. His hair was tousled from sleep and he looks tired. Almost sickly.
"Oh hey." Adrian said casually. He stretches out his arms and feels them pop.
"Hey?! That's what you fucking say after nearly killing me and sleeping in my damn closet?!"
"Ever heard of forgive and forget?" Adrian asked as he stood up. "No way in hell am I forgiving nor am I fucking forgetting!" exclaimed the boy. He aimed the knife at Adrian's chest with a shaky hand. "Do you kiss your mother with that mouth?" Adrian asked unafraid. He pushes the knife aside like he was brushing away dust and exited the closet. Nearly stepping on a giant lizard.
His ankles were assaulted with its tail. It felt like a whip made of metal wrapped around his ankles. "Shit!" Adrian jumped away from the lizard but it started following him. "Get 'em, Izzy!" ordered the boy. Adrian jumps on the bed before he could be hit again. He peered over the edge and saw the lizard was trying to climb up.
"She doesn't like intruders. Better leave. And never come back." said the boy. He had a smirk on his face as he crossed his arms. "Oh come on. I didn't kill you! Shouldn't that speak for itself?" Adrian asked. "Oh shut up! Just be glad I haven't called the cops yet!" The boy stopped shouting and started coughing. The redness in his face reminded Adrian of a person being strangled.
Slowly, Adrian climbs out of the bed and reaches out to touch him. "Are you alright . . ." he trailed off because he realized that he didn't know the boy's name. 'God, it's a one night stand all over again,' Adrian thought with a cringe.
"Cody."
Adrian looked down at the boy, surprised when he spoke. "What was that?" he asked. "My name is Cody." said the boy. He looked up at Adrian with a teary face from all the coughing. "You already know my face so what does it matter." he said.
His face felt like it was on fire when Cody stared into his eyes. "Are you still afraid?" Adrian asked in almost a whisper. He wanted to kiss that face again without being fought.
"Yes. I'm just wondering why haven't you killed me?" Cody said. He holds the knife up and lightly places it on Adrian's cheek. "Why aren't you afraid of me killing you?" Cody asked. Adrian smiled and takes the knife out of Cody's hand. "You're afraid of hurting people. You couldn't hurt anyone." he said as he stared into Cody's eyes. There was innocence in those brown orbs but something else lurked inside them. He leans in to kiss Cody but only kisses him on the forehead. Cody's skin was hot to the touch on his lips. It was like he was touching fire.
Cody suddenly backs away. He brushes passed Adrian and lays down on his bed. Adrian does a double-take when he saw the iguana was resting on the bed as well. "Your mother must be cool to let you have a pet iguana." Adrian commented. He reaches out to pet Izzy but was hissed at.
"Mmmm nnnhh mmm mmm mmhhh." Cody spoke in muffles. "Huh?" Adrian said confused.
With a grunt, Cody rolls onto his side. "She's not my real mom. She's my foster mother." he said sadly. He runs his fingers over Izzy's back and massaged the back of her neck. "My mother and father passed away in a home invasion." Cody said.
Surprise appeared on Adrian's face. He would've never guessed Cody was an orphan. "I lost my father and mother too," Adrian started. "Except my mom left us and I killed my father." he finished with a laugh. Cody's face turned from sad to a disgusted face. "I'm not going to even ask why. Past is in the past." Cody said as he rubs his temple.
It took all Adrian had to not laugh. Most would be disturbed, yet Cody doesn't seem to care. Not like most people would.
"Cute and carefree. I like that in a boy." Adrian smirked. If it weren't for Cody's already red face, he could've been able to tell he was blushing. "I'm not into boys! And I sure as hell not into killers!" Cody snapped. His yell woke up Izzy from her nap, and she jumps off the bed and scuttles away. The two men watch her as she walked away as if this was any normal day.
Adrian looks back at Cody but was whacked in the chest. "I want you out of here!" Cody demanded angrily. He continued shoving Adrian till they were in the hallway. "I won't tell the cops who you are as long as you don't come back!" he promised with a crack in his voice. Adrian's heart seemed to make a hurtful twist at Cody's words. He narrows his eyes at Cody as he was being shoved to the front door.
"Why must I leave? I find you interesting!" Adrian exclaimed.
"Id be flattered if you didnt try to fucking kill me and weren't a fucking killer!" Cody yelled as he opened the door and shoves Adrian out the door. "Now get the hell away from here!" he yelled before slamming the door in Adrian's face.
The door was so close to his face, he nearly got hit. Adrian blinked a few times as he stared at the door. "So hard to get." he said with a sigh. Turning around, he walks down the front steps and begins to walk down the sidewalk.
Only to stop and turn around to face the house. "Don't think this is the last of you seeing me, Cody." Adrian spoke as if he was talking to Cody directly. He smirks darkly before leaving.
