Chapter Three:::

35 4 5

I put the song for y'all to listen to while you read cause it kinda goes with the chapter
----------------------------------------------------    { {Lily Beth}
Its Joana, it has to be. He's staring at me. Maybe he's just a creep, but that's unlikely.
            "Lily Beth?" He asked.
          "Joana?"
"Lily Beth!" He gestured for me to sit. "What are you doing here?" He asked.
          "Starting college, duh."
He rolls his eyes, "You kept that five year old sassiness I see." I giggle. He raises an eyebrow at my giggle, I despised giggling when I was five, don't ask why, I don't even know. I just remember I would yell at every girl that giggled. As you can see, I was a very opinionated five year old.
"So, Er, how's your aunt?" I ask, being akward as usual.  If someone asked me to describe myself in one word, I would respond with akward before I even thought about it.
"Aunt Naola?" Joana responds. "She's good, a bit smothering, but good."
I nod and bite my lip, what else do I say? 'I'm glad, I've been great since you moved away. We ended up adopting another kid, she's 16. We got her 2 months after you. We're really close, in fact closer than we were when you lived with us." I would probably go into a ramble and embarrass myself.
"So," Joana snaps me out of my imaginary ramble. "How are your parents?"
"Good, but they still miss you. A few months after you left we got another placement that we ended up adopting, she's 16. Mom started a foster care support group, Dad's still at the same company, but he got promoted. Yeah, that's basically my family right now," I say. I had to cut myself off before I started rambling. One of my biggest flaws is that I ramble, my mom does the same thing.
Joana sits in silence for a few seconds before asking, "What's your sister's name?"
I bite my cheek, "Oh my Godric Gryffindor, still nosey are we?" A smile fills his face. "And her name's Jily May, we added the May. She already had the name Jily."
"Ahhh, the double name. The Jenalons were always big fans of that," He says. And I do that little nose-breath thing you do when someone says something jokingly, but its not funny enough for you to laugh. "Also, 'Oh My Godric Gryffindor' ? What does that mean?"
                I mutter, "Its Harry Potter."
He lets out a snort so loud the entire diner turns to look at him, "You got into Harry Potter, huh? Lily Beth Elizabeth Jenalon got into Harry Potter?"
I nod, and he lets out an even louder laugh. I send him a glare along with everyone else in the diner.
"What's so funny about me liking Harry Potter? Its and amazing series, and JK Rowling writes absolutely beautiful literature," I ask.
He laughs again, I'm starting to be very annoyed with him. "You just never seemed like the kind of girl that likes Harry Potter, that's all."
I roll my eyes, "That was 13 years ago, but whatever. Any other things I don't seem like I would like?"
"Are you an Ariana Grande fan?"
I shake my head, "Heck to the no. I'm Taylor Swift and Twenty Øne Pilots all the way."
He raises an eyebrow and laughs, "Okay, then." I smile back at him and fix my pom poms.
I want to ask him a question about him and his personality, but I can't think of a question. I go with the clichéest, stupidest question ever. "What's your major?" I ask, and instantly regret it. I don't know why, but the question seems stupid to me.
"English, I wanna go to law school and English seemed like the easiest major to have pre-law school. You?"
I look at my feet, "Journalism. I like writing."
He nods,"You've got a writer vibe."
"Uh...thanks? You...er...have a Lawyer vibe?" I say, being akward again. How do you respond to someone saying you have a writer vibe? He's silent for a little bit, though he looks like he wants to laugh at my awkwardness. "I'm going to grab some food," I stand up.
I grab my phone as I stand up, and as I stand in line I text my best friend and sister, Jily May.

Me:
Guess who I just saw and had an akward conversation with?

JULY MAY:
Who?

Me:
JOANA MARKINSON!!!!!!!!

JULY MAY:
The kid you fostered for a year that left two months before I came?

Me:
Bingo.

JULY MAY:
WHAT THE HECK?!? NO WAY!

Me:
Yes way.

JULY MAY:
How?!?

Me:
He apparently also got into Vandy.

JULY MAY:
Well, is he cute?

Me:
Jils!

JULY MAY:
What I had to ask...

Me:
Can you hear me rolling my eyes in Memphis?I gtg, I'm in line to order food.

JULY MAY:
K, byeeee.
I turn off my phone to get another text from Jily May,
JULY MAY:
You better call me later and tell me every detail!!!!!!!
I roll my eyes, laugh, and step up to the counter to order. I order a peanut butter sandwich, a sprite, and a chocolate milkshake. I pay and then go sit down.
I sit down and immediately have Joana make a comment on my texting, "You had some really quick thumb movement over their."
"I was texting my sister," I explain.
"Okay, then."
We talk about randomness for the rest of the time, our lives and crap like that. I look at my phone clock and see the time: 3:30. I grab my purse and stand up.
"I'm going to go back to my dorm, my roommate may be there. It was nice seeing you again," I say.
"Okay," Joana says. "Bye, I should probably head back to my dorm too." He stands up as I walk out the door. "Oh, yeah. Lily Beth!" I turn around. "Do you want to go to the freshman assembly with me tomorrow." I don't know what to say, so I nod my head.
"Sure."
