The ending is coming soon, guys. Possibly the next chapter or the one after. Thanks for sticking with me! :)
_______________________________School. I just couldn't wait until it was over. But for now, I had to stress about the finals. I was internally screaming every time I thought of them. Especially for calculus and physics. How the heck was I even supposed to pass the finals that included math?
And so the result was my studying. Literally every single day, I came home and went straight to studying all the formulas and rules of the numbers.
Honestly, I knew I could pass all my other classes, but these two were the ones that stressed me most. Well, maybe chemistry too, but still. These were the hard ones.
So here I was on a Satuday, sitting on my desk for two hours straight memorizing all the equations only to forget them and memorize them all over again. I hate math. Whoever made math was the worst. I mean, why in the world would anyone need to know the Pythagorean Theorem? And what about that trigonometry crap? What the heck?
"Stupid math," I mumbled. If only I never had to take math.
I gripped my pencil tightly and underlined the equations as I memorized them. I had to keep track because when I didn't, I ended up memorizing the same equation twice. Don't know how that works. Math does the most wondrous things. Not.
My eyes began to hurt. I squeezed them shut and opened them again. No. I was done. No more math for the rest of the day. Who cares if I fail math anyways?
"Ugh!" I threw my hands in the air in frustration.
This wasn't working. I needed a break.
I swirled around my chair and looked out the window. It was great day. The sun shone through the window, giving me warmth. Maybe I should do something today instead of staying all cooped up in here.
Yeah. That's a great idea.
Smiling, I slammed my book shut and got up. Time to relax a little. Fresh air would do me good.
Just as I was about to grab my phone, my door opened and Maggie jumped in.
"Hey, Nikki!" She greeted, throwing her arms around me.
"Maggie!" I groaned. "What are you doing?"
She pulled back and smiled. "I thought we could do something today." She saw my desk filled with papers and frowned. "Unless you're busy..."
I let out a laugh. What are the chances that Maggie would bring me a plan for the day when I was done with studying?
"I think that's a great idea, Mag."
"Great! Let's go! I know exactly what we're going to do today. Emma's waiting outside."
Uh oh. What was Maggie planning? It can't be anything dangerous, right?
Feeling a little reluctant, I let Maggie drag me out of the house.
I hope I don't regret this.
****
Holy cheese crackers! I knew I shouldn't have trusted her!
"I'm leaving," I said as I quickly turned around.
"Uh uh," Maggie grabbed my arm. "No way."
"Maggie, this is ridiculous! I can't do this!" I pointed at the monster in front of me. It growled as if to disagree.
"Come on," she coaxed, "It'll be fun. Besides, someone will be with you."
"Nuh uh. No way. You know what my mom will say if she ever sees me on that!"
