-Lottie's P.O.V-

"Oh my God, Phoebe, I'm so glad you're here!" I nearly cried when I saw Phoebe sitting in the livingroom, drawing. I threw my bags to the floor and ran to hug her.

Everyone kind of just looked at me weirdly. Like, really weirdly. Probably because I never really do this.

"Uh... Yeah," Phoebe said and pushed me off her.

"What was that all about?" Niall asked me. I just sighed and shook my head.

"We met Avangeline today, and her little sister Esperanza," I said, now Harry and Louis also saddened.

"Yeah, do you know what's wrong with her?" Haz asked, I nodded.

Everyone was in the livingroom, so I sat down between Liam and Zayn. All eyes were on me, looking curious and half confused.

"So you all know how I said she was really, er... Reserved?" They nodded. "Well, we met her sister today and they were shopping for wigs and they took off Esperanza's and she barely had any hair." Mum's eyes saddened.

"She was also very pale and boney, a very small 10 year old," Harry said and I nodded.

"She's sick, isn't she?" Liam asked us quietly.

"Yeah, Avangeline said she has Laukemia and I asked if she'd be okay..." I looked down at my lap and sighed.

"What did she say?" Fizz asked me.

"She didn't say anything, just gave me a small smile and went to her sister. I don't think she's going to be okay," I told them and when I looked up, they all looked so sad. "I feel awful, because everyone in school picks on her and says cruel things about her. I've never even seen her mum."

"That's because her mum's not here, Lottie. I've told you a million times that there might be a reason to why she is like that," Mum spoke up, I frowned now.

"Where is she?" Harry asked her.

"Avangeline's mother died 2 months after giving birth to her second daughter. The only person who was with her to the very end was her daughter. I never saw her father, not even when Esperanza was born. It's was always Avangeline who was there to take care of her sister and hold her mother's hand till she took her very last breath."

"Oh my God..." I gasped out slightly and I don't know why, but I bolted out the door and just ran.

Next thing I know, I'm standing in front of Richard's house. Yes, I know where he lives, I've been to a couple of parties here. Quickly I knocked on the door and he opened it shortly after.

"Lottie?"

"Uhm... Yeah, hi. Do you by any chance have Avangeline's address?" I asked him. He looked at me questioningly for a bit, then nodded slowly.

"Yeah, I'll write it down for you." He left and came back only a minute later with a yellow post-it note in hand.

"Thank you! See you later!" I smiled and then began walking again. I groaned reading the address. "Seriously!?"

I had been running for 7 minutes to get here, only to find out she lives at the end of my street in the huge house there. I went to her house, but was stopped by a man standing outside a gate.

"Who are you?" he asked me in some kind of accent.

"Uhm.. I got to school with Avangeline..." I trailed off, he typed in a code and the big metal doors opened. I walked up the looooong driveway and got to the door, which strangely held a butler.

"Name, miss?"

"Er... Lottie?" He raised an eyebrow, but didn't comment.

"A Miss Lottie is by the door, may she enter?" Seriously!? This is soooo weird.
