Augustus was sitting in their room, copying some new spells that they found on a website, into their own personal grimoire, which they received for their birthday. They found a spell that piqued their interest, a wish bottle for safety on a journey. They don't exactly know why, but they were writing the spell down in great detail. Afterwards, deciding to write down a list of all of the herbs and other necessary items for it; in the middle of writing down what type of candles, a large crash could be heard from the basement. Augustus, worried about their mom's health, ran down the stairs as fast as lightning- well as fast as a weak, thirteen year old witch could do.

"Mom? Are you okay?" they yell, looking around the basement as soon as they reached the bottom of the staircase. They quickly rush to the other side of the basement frantically, only to see their mom under a pile of old books. All books from relatives throughout generations.

"Oh, I'm okay. I was just looking for your grandmother's grimoire. But I can't seem to find any, besides her first couple. The one I am looking for is from her college years," their mom explained scratching her head, while looking up at her child with a smile. "I could use some help getting unburied though..."

"Ah! Okay!" Augustus exclaims, before quickly beginning to pick up the grimoires scattered across the floor. Grabbing the pages that are falling out from the generations before and setting them aside, in order to be put in a folder that is for any lost pages. Later we will put them into their proper grimoires.

"Why is grandma's college grimoire so important?" Augustus asks, kind of confused by why their mom would be willing to be smushed under books just for one grimoire.

"Hmm... I wonder..." their mom pondered, but they knew better, their mother was hiding something from them. An idea sparks in Augustus' head.

Quickly rushing back up the stairwell and into their bedroom, immediately diving for their bed, which their phone is resting on. They only did one thing on their phone at this moment, they sent a text, saying, 'I have a plan.'

Within minutes after the text sent, a boy with goggles shows up at their house, and is silently welcomed in. Augustus and this other person slowly walked up the stairwell and into Augustus' room.

"So? What is this plan of yours?" he asks, sitting down at the desk, while Augustus sits on their bed.

"Oliver, the plan is, that we are going to find my grandmother's grimoire," they report, crossing their legs.

" What if you get hurt? Hmmm? So instead of you going alone I will join you! I don't want you to die," Oliver insists. Oliver is usually salty and sarcastic, but will be a total mom friend if you are in danger.

"Nobody will die on this journey, but... I guess you can come, I could use the help and emotional support," Augustus reassured, giving into their friend's worries, wanting him to go back to regular his salty self.

"Not like I was giving you much of a choice on whether I'm going or not," Oliver responds, "So, when is this exactly going to happen?"

Augustus lays down on their bed, trying to think of this plan in more elaborate detail. "Well, we will need my mom's permission, but other then that, probably not tomorrow, but the day after? I should probably prepare some spells for it, as we don't know exactly where we will be going..." they explain.

After about 3 hours, Oliver leaves to go back to his house, to prepare for the journey. Leaving Augustus at their house to prepare and ask their mom for permission. Almost an hour after Oliver left, that's exactly what Augustus does.

They walk down the stairs silently, knowing that it would be fine if they were to make noise, but not wanting to due to the fear that is instilled in their stomach. They approach their mom, as quiet as a mouse, but before finally being able to mutter out a, "Hey, mom?"

"Yes?" their mom replied looking up from the book she was reading, a grimoire that was sold in plenties. It was for beginning witches or those who simply do not have the time to write their own.

"I was wondering if in two days I could go somewhere with Oliver..." they mumble.

"To where?"

"On a journey to find grandmother's grimoire that went missing..." Augustus whispers, barely managing to get some of the words out.

It takes their mom a moment to reply, but to Augustus it feels like an eternity, "Yes, but under one condition."

"What is it?" Augustus questions, the nervousness that was in them for so long leaving. However, they get no answer, instead their mom stands up. Augustus eyes follow as she goes into the garden to the section where she grew the comfrey Waiting two minutes before taking some comfrey from the plant. She then walks back into the house and sets the plant into Augustus' hand Tears start to form in their eyes and Augustus hugs their mom tightly.
