On September 1st, Artemis Fowl came back to life. Foaly, Butler, and I laid his body down among the roses, and hoped for a miracle. Of course, being Artemis Fowl, he didn't disappoint. I wasn't worried at all. I mean, there were a few seconds when I thought he was gone... Oh shut up Foaly! I didn't cry! Overall I knew he would come back. He always does, right?
I'm not so sure anymore. Something happened. At first, he was just fine, exactly like the Artemis Fowl of 6 months ago. I was um, saying something about how it was supposed to be me that died, but then he woke up and whispered, "It was never your job to protect me Holly." After that... Well. Foaly thinks he lost his memory. Something about how Artemis had to put defenses around his mind when he was floating around. His theory is that Artemis' memory was slowly lost, starting from his most recent ones. So now Arty only knows Butler, Juliet, and his parents. Not even Myles and Beckett. That was a week ago.
It hurts. Whenever Artemis and I talk... He stares at me, quite rudely I must add. I don't think he trusts me all to much. I've recollected all our misadventures together, all the good and bad ones. Except maybe the events that occurred in the Gorilla Cage. I'm not ready for him to know that yet.
It may take years for Artemis to remember, and be the Artemis he used to be. All of us are willing to try though. Though this mudboy was the source of much discomfort, perilous events, and super evil pixies bent on revenge, we couldn't have survived without him. Believe me, if I hadn't lived through all that myself, I wouldn't say this, but, he's basically the only reason Haven is still here. Why the Fairy Folk haven't been discovered yet.
So.. Yes, Argon. I know. This may not be what you expected from Captain Holly Short of the Lower Elements Police. But this is me. And Artemis is my friend. I won't ever give up on him.
He may have been a broken boy, but I was always missing something. He completes me.
