Tasha's POV:

The week passes quickly. The days are full of classes and nights I spend doing homework. Jake brings me snacks and take out. On Friday, I wake up with Jake sitting at the foot of my bed. "What the fuck?"

"Hey babe. I have a question for you!" Jake says smiling.

"Was it that important to wake me up?"

"Yes. Issy has been making my mom blow up my phone. She wants you to come this weekend. We have this big camp out party in my parent's backyard," he says with a smile.

"Aw well I'll call my mom and tell her I won't be coming home. Was Sara awake when you came in?"  He just nods.

"SARA!!!!"

"Geez, what? What do you want?" She asks running into my room. She smiles at how close Jake and I are on the bed. I roll my eyes.

"Do you care if I don't go home this weekend?"

"As long as I can take your car, no." She says smiling.

"Good. Good you know the routine. We tell them I'm with my new friend."

"You know your mom is gonna be mad if you don't come home," she says quietly.

"Oh well. Are you taking Nat and Lucy?"

"Yeah. I'd call your mom right now," she says walking out of the room. None of has class today because it's a holiday weekend. It's the beginning of September and labor day weekend.

"So, do you wanna be on speaker phone?"

"Sure babe. I wanna get to know your family as soon as I can," Jake says with a smile. He's so sweet.

I sit on Jake's lap as I dial my mom's number, my fingers shake. I don't even know why I'm so nervous. "Tasha Elizabeth Clark it's about time you called!" My mom says, I can hear her smile on the other end.

"Hi Mom."

"So when are you heading home?" She questions. Jake squeezes my hand a bit with encouragement.

"About that."

"Tasha, are you staying there with your new friend?" She asks. I hate the way she says friend.

"Do you care?"

"Yes I care because I haven't yet met this person, but I'll trust you because you are an adult now," she says with a sigh.

"Thank you mom. My friend says thanks too!" Jake smiles at me.

"Tasha, what's his name? And am I on speaker phone?"

"Damn mom you are so good."

"Young man what's your name, age and major?" She infers.

"Hi um. My name is Jake, I'm 22 and I want to teach high school. I love working with kids in a non creepy way. Just so you know and don't judge me. I've made some mistakes in the past and I have a 3 year old daughter. My parents take care of her during the school year, but she's my whole world. She loves your daughter," Jake says with a huge smile.

"Tasha, I approve for now. Young man you will be coming to our house one weekend. You can even bring your daughter."

"Thank you ma'am, it means so much."

"Thanks Mom."

"Leigha's here and wants to talk," Mom says quietly.

"Ok. Bye mom. Love you!"
