Jake's POV:
Tasha goes up stairs to talk to Sara. Ben yells me over to talk. He stands in a group with this guy named Toby and Luke. "Guys stop being anti-social and get your butts over here," Luke's mom Mrs. Smith yells. I follow all the guys over to the table and take a seat across from Mrs. Clark (Tasha's mom).
"So Jake, what do you plan to do after college?" Mrs. Smith asks.
"Mom, you know he's like Tashy professor," Ben says and then realizes he spilled our secret.
"You're her professor!" Mrs. Smith screams.
"No ma'am I'm just a professor's assistant. I want to be a teacher someday, it's just my student teaching."
"Tasha!" She screams.
"What mom?" Tasha says running into the room.
"How dare you do this to this family? I thought you learned from Leigha! Damn it Tasha!" Mrs. Smith yells at Tasha.
"How dare I do what? Date a guy? He's the freaking professor's assistant mom! It's not like he's some 70 year old guy! And all I've learned from Leigha is that true love is possible!" Tasha spits back at her mom.
"I don't want you at that school."
"Too late mom, everything is paid for. I like having my own independence!"
"You ditched your best friend for this character!"
"Mom, Sara and I worked that out!"
"Say goodbye to your boyfriend Tasha. I'd prefer he wasn't here right now," Mrs. Smith says quietly.
"Mom, this isn't your house to say.." Tasha says as I interrupt.
"It's fine babe. I'll just get my stuff and go home." Mrs. Smith just nods and they get back to their party. I don't really care, I just don't want Tasha and her mom to be fighting.
We walk over to Leigha and Luke's house across the street. I throw the few things I brought into my backpack. "I just can't believe her!" Tasha complains laying on the air mattress.
"I'm sure she will come around. I mean look at me, it's hard to resist these good looks." She rolls her eyes and I sit down next to her and kiss her cheek. "I better go I'm kinda scared of your brothers," I tell her jokingly.
"Fine. But I need a proper kiss. I probably won't see you till Monday," she complains with a fake pout.
"Fine," I pull her off the air mattress and close to me. I give her 'a proper good bye kiss' and begin the long drive home.
She doesn't text or call me at all. I wake up Tuesday morning to my baby girl jumping on me and all my dogs laying next to me. Saturday night I returned to my parent's camp out. Issy was mad that Tasha wasn't with me. I didn't really explain the thing with Mrs. Smith to anyone. I think they all think we broke up. It's about 7 when Issy wakes me up. "Daddy! Daddy! Daddy! Mammy said I had to get you up for school!" I groan and she keeps jumping on me.
"Jake get up!" My mom yells up the stairs.
"Guess I gotta get up Issy. Come on let's go eat," I say sitting up and grabbing her. I throw her over my shoulder and run down the hall. She giggles and yells. I set her down at the top of the stairs and run down.
"Daddy!" She yells.
"Isabella Nicole Lewis! Did you get a pet elephant?" Dad yells.
"No Pappy, what you talking about?"
