I groan aloud as a knock comes to my door, I put the book I'm currently reading down and force myself to get off the couch. I open my front door and I find a girl, her eyes widen in surprise but only for a moment.
"Can you help me please?" She asks nervously, her voice is soft and somewhat comforting.
God she didn't even introduce herself.
"And who are you?" I ask leaning against my door frame. I'm dressed in lazy clothes, meaning a large sweater and no pants.
The girl in front of me is indescribable, her coffee coloured hair falls perfectly over her shoulders, and her simple brown eyes look outstanding. She puts her hand on her hip and tilts her head, "I am Anne Monroe and I need help."
I observe her. She frowns impatiently, "With what do you need help with?" I reply smirking.
"I just need help, please?" She answers urgently. I give in. The unremarkably attractive girl wants help with something.
Like literally, she is so pretty, I can't describe her beauty in words.
"I can't refuse a pretty girl now can I?" I ask following her as she blushes. I only trail behind her for two seconds since her apartment is literally just across from mine.
She stops before she closes the door and ushers me inside. She smiles politely before asking if I want a drink. "I'm good princess." I wink and she blushes once more.
This one blushes awfully easy doesn't she?
"I uh... I need help with my wifi." She tucks a strand of hair behind her ear and leads me to her internet boxy thingy.
"Ah yes. The ways of the wifi is but a mystery to me I'm afraid." I carefully inspect the modem running my thumb over my chin mockingly.
"Look can you help me or not?"
"I don't know? Can I?" In reply Anne simply frowns at me, hands on her hips and fuming with frustration, "You're cute when you're angry princess... What exactly do you need help with, you haven't yet specified."
"Oh? I uh... I... Don't know the password." She looks down embarrassed.
"You don't know the password to your own wifi?" I ask smiling widely.
"That is correct yes."
"How sad. Well, I'm not entirely tech savvy but I do now where the password can be found in this rather complicated set up." I look at her before turning the box around and reading the sticker covered with letters and numbers.
"According to this thingy here, it's... WX37DQ9O." I turn to face her and she buries her face in her hands in embarrassment once more.
"Oh my dear God." Is all she says. I laugh and she pushes me slightly.
"Oh shush you, don't make fun of me."
"I didn't know beauty came with a price of ineptitude."
"Hey, I'm not stupid." Anne slaps me before walking to what I think is her kitchen.
"I'm surprised you know what that means princess." I reply following her.
"Well for your information miss obnoxious, I passed and got A's English Literature for four consecutive years. Planning on going to college for that reason, also science." She pours herself a cup of water and drinks it as though she's won a debate.
"You haven't won anything yet Missy." I say as she places her cup down.
"You keep calling me names yet I don't know yours." She walks to confront me and sits on the stool beside me, "What's your name?"
"Wouldn't you like to know?"
"I would like to know thank you. In case you haven't noticed it's common courtesy to know strangers names before talking."
"I know yours." I simply state before meeting her brown eyes, she burrows her brows slightly and huffs.
"You're awfully problematic aren't you?"
"I don't know what that means but probably."
She frowns and walks to her door, opening it and gesturing for me to leave, "You have outlived your stay stranger. You may leave now."
I shrug and approach Anne. She freezes as I lean towards her. She smells of cinnamon and everything sweet. "Why aren't you breathing?" I ask, "I didn't know I had that effect on a girl."
"I was breathing perfectly fine. Why did you lean towards me?"
"To see if you were breathing?" I explain as if it was obvious, "I didn't want you to faint or something like that? I don't want a pretty girl possibly harming herself now do I?"
"I'm not pretty." She states gently pushing me out the door.
"I beg to differ." With that she blushes a third time.
"I asked you to help me with my wifi, not harass me." She says seeing me out the apartment.
"I would never harass a goddess."
And with that she groans with frustration and closes the door with a rather loud bang. I clap my hands together as if dusting them off. "And that is how you do it."
