Anne Monroe P.O.V
Ugh. What is this?
I sit upwards and a sudden surge of pain jolts through my body. This pain didn't feel like the other times when I simply had a fist fight with someone, this feels like torture. Like pure fire was running through my veins.
That's when I realise my bones were being mended slowly. The simplest things in my body was broken and I'm pretty sure I have some damage done to my organs, possible internal bleeding I'm not so sure.
I try and lift my arms but they're tied to a pole behind me with plastic. They don't even have the decency to use handcuffs on me. I cry in pain as I try and slide up the poll, but it proved to be useless as I fall back down.
From what I'm looking at, I'm guessing this room I'm in is the basement. I had been in here many times before and not too far is a little escape hatch I made when I was fourteen and wanted to leave home. If only I could get there.
I begin to cry. Why am I crying? The tears begin to stream steadily down my face and I hang my head in discouragement. What would my parents think? What would Cameron think?
Cameron!
Oh god Cameron what's going on? Why didn't I stay with you? I know I wasn't allowed to, but I would give anything just to be by your side to make sure you're safe. It's my duty.
I cry some more, but it's because of Leo. How is he? Clarence and her minions must have taken my car by now. Where's Leo?
I need to know.
"HEY!" I scream, but I'm afraid that my voice just comes out as a harsh whisper, "HEY! SOMEONE! CLARENCE, SCRAWNY—"
The door opens and I shut up quickly, the man's silhouette is skinny and I'm guessing it's the Scrawny guy. He stops just in front of the door, "What do you want?"
I'm beginning to cry again, "I need to pee."
"Why are you crying?" He asks bluntly.
"Because I don't want to pee myself." I reply trying to suck him in.
He begins to make his way towards me, "You're lucky I'm in here, if it was Ben he would have let you go but not the way I'm going to."
I frown, "You're going to let me go?"
"Only to urinate."
As he loosens the plastic around my hands I smile kindly at him, "You're awfully kind."
"I was forced to do this, it doesn't mean I want to." He finishes and my hand easily slides out. I rub it and touch my cheek. I flinch in pain, a bruise must be forming, "Go and do you're business, I'll be right here."
I nod. The escape is so close, only one push and I can get through. I look back at the man and he looks at me sadly, "Are you okay?" I ask frowning.
"You're so lucky... You lived in this house with your family. You must love them so if you would kill yourself trying to find them."
"What about your family?"
"My family is Clarence and Ben, I'm the odd one out. They eat meat and I'm a vegetarian, I'm so hungry."
I know I shouldn't be considering this but a part of me wants to escape with him. He is really nice. Well maybe I'm just tired and want to leave, but I contemplate it. I sigh, "I know a good vegan place around the corner."
"This house is in the middle of nowhere."
"Are you a good person Scrawny?" I ask walking up to him.
"I told mumma and Ben to spare your dog." He replies looking down.
"Leo is alive?"
"Hopefully."
I smile. My faith in not-humanity is restored.
"If I could escape would you let me?"
"Uhh... I'm not so sure..."
"You can come with me." I explain trying to persuade him.
I see him as he thinks through it, "You saved my dog, I can't thank you enough."
"You would take me?"
"I need to find Leo first and then Cameron. Would you care to join me?" I say holding my hand out.
"Anne. Your name is Anne right?"
"Yes?"
"You have shown more kindness to me than my mother or brother have shown me in the last ten years. I will help you escape."
I smile widely and try not to jump up and down, "You're not bluffing?"
"Bluffing...?"
"I'll show you the way."

A long moment passes before we speak again. At the current moment I'm walking a steady pace in front of the man whose name I have not yet discovered. I turn to face him, "What is your name?"
He looks up to me, "Glenn."
"Well Glenn, you are my new friend, what is it that I shall do for you?"
"I'm not so sure?"
"We can play a game?" I ask quickly and he shrugs.
"If you want."
"You're awfully quiet Glenn. What's on your mind?"
"I think I need to tell you something Anne of the Monroe."
"Oh, it's just Anne. But shoot." I say walking backwards still facing the scrawny man.
"I know where Cameron is." He replies unsure of the outcome.
"Oh? That's great where is she?"
"At Michaels home."
"Who's home?"
"Michael's home."
"The one your mum was talking about?"
"Yeah." He nods quickly.
"And where may that be?"
"A far way from here."
"Where?"
"Near Upstate."
"You're kidding?"
"I'm afraid not."
"Well... Cameron needs us Glenn."
"She does?" He asks looking up to me expectantly, and I just smile at him, "She does."
