My phone rings and it's Rachel. I shudder in frustration, "Hello?" A pause, "Hello?" I ask again.
"Cameron. I'm- I'm sorry."
"Rachel why are you calling me?"
"I just need to say something. And bear with me." Her voice slurs and that's how I realise she's drunk.
"Are you drunk Rachel?" I ask placing my book down on my lap.
"Yes but I just want to say that I had a crush on you for the longest time-"
"Rachel I highly doubt that."
"I was just so angry that you never noticed me. Anger makes me do strange things Cameron. I guess only me starting that fight with you was my way of getting you to notice me. I'm sorry. And it's okay that you punched me. It was pretty hot." She sniffs audibly, the cold obviously getting to her.
"Rachel are you aware of what time it is?" I ask monotonously.
"I don't know? 8?"
"11. It's 11 o'clock Rachel, why are you out?"
"I wanted to get the courage to talk to you."
"And you decided to drink?"
"... Yes? I don't know I can't remember. Honestly I can't remember where I'm going right now."
"Where are you right now?" I sigh and stand up placing a bookmark in the page I'm up to.
"I don't know? Tenth street probably?"
I groan, it's such a long drive, "Stay there I'll pick you up."
"You don't have to-"
"Rachel shut up."

I begin to slow down as I turn a corner. Searching for any sort of figure in the darkness, and suddenly in the streetlight I find a girl slouched by a wall. She's holding her phone and waving it in the air, moving her mouth silently into the street. I groan. Am I really doing this? Yes. Yes I am because I'm a good person.
I stop beside her and open the door, "Get in Rachel, I'm taking you home."
She stands up and grins at me. I'm not going to lie, she is attractive, her long red hair is wavy almost as if she dressed up for tonight. She's tall and her hazel eyes shine like the morning light. But her makeup is smudged like she had been crying but she was too lazy to care. I mean same though.
"I can't go home Cameron, mom and dad will be fuming." She says in her American accent as she gets in. Even though she's pretty far away from me I can smell the alcohol radiating off her.
"Fine then, you can stay at mine." I say as she closes the door. I drive off and begin to pick up the speed as I hear her begin to snore, "Jesus Christ." I mumble to myself.
I arrive at my apartment building and shake Rachel awake, "Rachel get up we're here. You can sleep inside." She mumbles as she sits forwards hastily.
"Yep I'm awake. Oh! Cameron you're a sight for sore eyes." She says laughing to herself, she's obviously still drunk.
"Come on let's go."
I haul Rachel out of the car and help her walk up to the elevator. She smiles as she leans against me, "You're enjoying this too much Rachel." I exclaim pushing her away softly.
The elevator opens and it's on my floor. I lead her to my room and she instantly jogs to the couch. "Ooh comfy."
I shake my head and close the door behind me. She laughs to herself like a maniac, "What's wrong with you?" I ask throwing my keys onto the bench.
"My feelings for you."
"How cute." I say walking to the closet to grab a pillow and blanket for her. Before I can though she's in front of me. In surprise I back into the wall. And then I leave her side and walk into the lounge throwing the pillow and blanket onto the couch.
She follows me as I grab a cup to fill up with water. She approaches me hastily as I back away from her. I place the cup down and look at her as my back hits the corner of the kitchen table. Her hands find the table and places them on both sides of my body. I shake my head, "Rachel what are you doing?" I ask.
"What I've been wanting to do since we were in high school together." She says as she leans into me. Our bodies in physical contact now. The smell of alcohol is stronger than ever right now, but I'm strangely attracted to it.
Her face is only inches away from mine as her breath reaches my skin. I stop breathing. What I'm guessing she's going to do is kiss me or kill me. She hasn't yet specified.
Then the gap between us closes and our lips are forced upon each other. I don't react until one of her hands find my neck and the other my waist. She pulls me closer to deepen the kiss and I pull back to breathe, as I do so our tongues meet and our mouths move with unison.
I pull her closer to me and bite her bottom lip gently, I earn a low moan from her as I break the kiss and lead her to my room. I close the door behind us and turn around to meet her. Our lips meet once more and I push her against the wall, my hands pull on the hem of her shirt as a sign for her to take it off. She smiles against my lips before breaking the kiss off. She throws her top off and we return to the kiss, I throw my hands into her red locks and gently usher her to the bed. Her knees hit the edge and she falls down.
I look at her up and down, she is so beautiful topless. Why had I never realised how pretty she was before?
She slides her hands under my shirt and glides it up and down my stomach. I shiver in ecstasy as her cold hands move onto my back. I trail kisses from her jawline down to her neck and gently suck on what I'm guessing is her sweet spot since her breath hitches and she moans slightly, earning a smile against her skin. She pulls my top over my head and I intertwine our hands together as I pin them to the bed.
I think of Anne, and her beauty all in one form. How this isn't her, but I'm somehow imagining it to be. I'm imagining who I'm feeling is Anne, who I'm kissing is Anne. But I don't stop, because I'm savouring the moment until I realise it's not Anne, and I'm making a huge mistake.
