As I Lay Dying

Dani's PoV

Katherine hangs up the phone and I stare at her. She gives me a sympathetic look. I however turn to Klaus extremely pissed.

"Is killing my sister not good enough for you, that you have to kill my aunt too," I say.

Out of nowhere I walk up to him and slap him hard. He just stares at me.

"I'm sorry," I here him whisper under his breath as I storm away from him.

I walk into the bedroom and slam the door shut. I sit on the bed and feel the tears form in my eyes. I blink and the waterworks flood my face.

I lay down on the bed crying to myself. I hear the door open.

"Dani, I'm sorry for what I had to do," Katherine apologises.

She moves over to me as I sit up and face her.

"It's okay Kat, I just don't understand why he had to use Jenna. Why couldn't he have used a stranger?" I respond.

She sighs and hugs me tightly, "I don't know Dani, I don't know. It's probably his reputation or ego."

I stare at the wall in silence.

"Where is Klaus anyway?" I ask.

"He left to get Jenna," she informs me.

I sigh.

"Look I know it's probably not something you want to do but I can't let you leave, so do you want to celebrate their lives by having a wake?" She asks.

I turn to her, giving her a small smile, "Yeah I suppose. It's better than just sitting here."

She smiles and pulls me out into the living room. She passes me a glass of something.

I take a sip. But choke slightly.

"That's strong," I admit.

She laughs.

"What is it?" I ask.

"That's Whiskey. I have another few bottles of Bourbon. But we'll have those in a few days," she states.

A few days later, me and Katherine we partying around the apartment.

Klaus was nowhere to be found,but Katherine couldn't leave yet so we were stuck here, meaning Klaus was still alive.

I fell onto the sofa and passed out.

Katherine's PoV

I watch as Dani passed out onto the sofa. I smile to myself, she really is fun to be around.

I automatically turn to the door as I hear someone enter. I relax a little when I see Stefan.

"Hello, Katherine."

I get up from the chair I was sat in, "Two days, I've been waiting. I'm supposed to be free of Klaus' compulsion by now. He's supposed to be dead!"
