Dani's PoV

I woke up to my phone buzzing.

Sighing I answer it.

"I need you to come to the boarding house," Damon states.

"Urgh. Alright give me 20 minutes and I'll be there," I say.

I get out of bed and get dressed. Grab my bag and leave the house.

I walk into the living room to see Damon and Caroline sat there. Moments later Stefan walks in.

"What happened?" He asks them.

Caroline sighs.

"Go ahead, tell them. You're gonna love this," Damon informs us.

"What is it, Caroline?" I ask, as I take a seat next to her.

She takes a deep breath, "I saw Katherine today."

"Where?" Stefan instantly questions.

"At the grill," she answers.

"I just stopped by to gawk and quasi - stalk Matt," she tells us, detailing her encounter with Matt and then coming up with the excuse of using the ladies room.

Damon sighs, "skip the teen drama and get to it."

"Then I had to pretend to use the bathroom even though I didn't really have to go, 'cause I'm a dufus, " she tells us, "Katherine wanted me to deliver a message."

"What was the message?" Stefan asks.

"Tell, Damon, Stefan and Dani that I want the moonstone or I will rip this town apart until it rains blood," Caroline says, immitating Katherine.

"Tell them the rest of it," Damon says.

"Tonight. At the masquerade ball," she finishes.

I sigh, extremely annoyed.

"She wants to do it in public. Killing mason threw her off guard," Stefan says.

"She's running scared. What she did to Jenna was desperate," Damon states.

"Really, because from what I can gather from Katherine so far. She does everything for a reason, so none of us can underestimate her," I say.

"Oh so, you know everything about Katherine now do you," Damon responds.

I shake my head, "no I don't Damon. But she knows things about me that I didn't even know myself. She knows I carry the werewolf gene and yet she hasn't got back at Elena or any of you by triggering my curse. Why do you think that is, Damon?"

Damon gives me a hard look.

Stefan walks over to us, "dani's right we have to play this smarter than her."

"Can't we just give her the moonstone so she'll leave?" Caroline asks frustrated.

"No. Katherine's not getting Dick," Damon states.
