"MOM, LAY'S HOME!" Ethan yelled as I walked through the front door. I would have glared at him, but I was to excited. I couldn't stop smiling. "Lay, what's wrong with your face?" he asked. My mom stepped into the room.

She smiled. "Somebody looks happy," she observed. I nodded.

"Mom, he kissed me!" I almost yelled. I shook my hands and sat on the couch. "K, I just had to get that out."

"Layla, that's awesome! I'm so happy for you!" she said kissing the top of my head.

"GAG" Ethan said making a face. He was playing his video games and trying to ignore me.

"SHUT UP!" I yelled at him. My mom laughed.

"By the way, Jack and Sophia are coming over for dinner, if you each want to invite a friend over to keep you sane. I don't want any fighting tonight. You have 30 minues to figure it out," she said drying her wet hands off on a dish towel. I sighed.

"Should I call Thomas or Joey?" I asked.

"JOEY!" mom and Ethan said at the same time. I laughed.

"What do you guys have against Tom?" I wondered. They both had smirks on their face.

"I think he's awkward," Ethan said without hesitation. He looked at me, now smiling shyly.

I smiled sarcastically. "Yeah, and I think you're gay."

He frowned. "Whatever" he said. He was serious, but he was just joking a few minutes ago.

"Ethan, can I talk to you in private?" I asked my voice almost a whisper and cracking. My mother frowned but walked back into the kitchen, shuting the door behind her.

"What?" he asked still playing his x-box. He didn't make eye contact with me. I stood up and sat on the arm of his chair.

"Ethan, is there something you want to tell me, or talk about?" I asked softly.

"Layla, I don't want to do this right now," he mumbled. I knew he was going to be like this. I took his controler and pressed the pause button. I threw it on the couch. "HEY!" he screamed.

"Ethan, this is serious," I said. "We need to talk about it. You know you can tell me anything, don't you?" I always tried to be there for him. I trusted him and I thought he trusted me. I knew this was scary for him, but he needed to tell someone.

"I know," he muttered. "I don't want mom to-"

"Ethan, I would never tell," I said quickly. He had to know that. I want him to trust me and that would ruin our trust.

He looked at me, tears brimming his eyes. "Layla, what if she doesn't love me when she finds out?" he asked, his voice shaky.

I shook my head and hugged him. "She would never stop loving you. No matter what you are like, or what kind of gender you like, she will love you as much as she always has. I promise."

"Really?" he asked looking at me. I nodded.

"Really," I whispered. "You can tell her when you're ready. I think you'll feel better once you say it out loud to somebody you know you can trust."

"Layla, I'm gay," he said quickly. I could tell he was trying not to cry.

I smiled and squeezed his hand gently. "See, that wasn't so hard. And I still love you more than anybody else in the world." He grinned.

"I love you too, Lay. And besides, now we can talk about boys together!" he said excitedly. I laughed at this.

"Yeah, we can," I said still smilng at him. His face became more serious now.
