(Sorry, I do a lot of skipping my around in this series. It's hard to stick in the chronological order, especially since it gets more awkward to write things about lukesse as they're getting older. So, this chapter is gonna take place after the birth of Charlotte and Nathan, but before the announcement of Jesse's first pregnancy. Yeah.)
(There's gonna be a lot of romance in here. No smut, but kissing and 'seducing' or whatever u wanna call it.) *dies*

WE couldn't sleep. It wasn't about nightmares, it was the fact that we were going on a journey to an unexplored part of the world tomorrow, that we would be away from home.
Olivia and Axel chose to stay behind... After all, they still had their twins to take care of.
Petra, Ivor, Jesse, and I were the ones who were setting out tomorrow.
And we were scared.
Jesse smells sweet, like... Flowers.
Her Raven-black hair tickles my nose, and I smile, thinking about how many times we've said that we love each other .
She always had a way of making me smile- for making me happy...
And I love her dearly for it.
Jesse was hugging me tightly, and her head was right next to mine.
I could hear her soft breathing- not asleep, but long and quiet breaths.
It was a freezing cold night, the cold air seeping in even through the closed windows in the house and chilling my body.
"Lukas, I'm tired of keeping you warm..." Sighed Jesse, laughing a bit.
"So... You want me to keep you warm?" I purred.
"Sure- why not." Huffed Jesse, rolling to her other side.
I wrapped my arms around her body, meeting her smooth skin.
Jesse smiled, her nose and cheeks red from the cold room.
"Why does it have to be so cold in here?" Asked Jesse, her hand coming to her face to rub her nose.
"I don't know, Jesse..." I sighed, playing with her hair a bit.
"I like it, though..." Said Jesse, smiling. "It lets us cuddle without it getting too hot."
"That is true..." I smiled, dropping the strand of her hair.
We lay silence, Jesse's body pressed to mine in the inky darkness.
After a year of marriage, close to a year of dating, Jesse was the sunshine of my life, making my world have light.
Her light never burned out, and I try my hardest to be the best husband I could possibly be.
She's been through a lot- the mutations, loosing Reuben, almost loosing her friends multiple times, and putting her life on the line whenever nobody else stood up- it always made me feel like I don't treat her with enough respect.
I always feel like I'm doing something wrong, even though she keeps telling me that I'm fine.
"How long have Axel and Olivia been at home?" I asked, referring to their return from the hospital.
"Just over a week... Sighed Jesse, blushing.
More silence, broken only by the sound of monsters scuttling around outside.
"What... What would you think about...having a baby?" Asked Jesse, sounding nervous.
I froze, trying to think about this...
I mean, Jesse and I haven't done the do yet, we'd like to wait until the time seems right.
I tried to imagine what a child between us would look like, but it was all pretty weird to think about, and my thoughts went into places where they probably shouldn't go.
"I...uh..." I stammered, taken aback by Jesse's sudden question. "I don't know. If you really want a child, that's fine, but do you really want to?" I asked, returning the question.
"I think it'd be nice... But maybe not right now." Sighed Jesse. "I want things to happen when we don't have to go out adventuring in the morning."
"True." I said, smiling. "And that time will come soon enough."
"Speaking of time..." Sang Jesse, giggling a bit. "We haven't kissed in a while!"
She turned around, kissing me and taking me slightly off guard.
But only slightly.
Jesse's mouth tasted sweet, making me think about how much I love everything about her.
We finally broke apart, but only because we had to breathe.
Jesse's head was so close to mine- her nose touched my nose.
Her eyes were so vibrantly green...
Suddenly, Jesse sneezed, making scream.
I laughed so hard that I fell out of the bed- still laughing.
"Sorry!" Called Jesse, looking down at me from the edge of the bed and laughing. "I didn't mean it!"
I smiled, Jesse's kitten sneeze replaying in my head.
I pulled the twisted covers back again, wrapping my arms around her once more.
"You sneeze like a kitten." I teased.
"And you fall with a grace of a snowflake." Purred Jesse, sarcastically.
