"Beep Beep Beep," Judy's alarm rang loudly, awakening the pair from their sweet slumber. Judy's eyes opened slowly, as she familiarised herself with her surroundings. Nick turned the alarm clock off with a thump, returning his arm around Judy, holding her close, inhaling her sweet scent. "Nick we gotta get up," she whispered softly. Nick groaned and pulled the cover back over the two. "Nnnnooo," he moaned. He began to kiss her although, he was half asleep, Judy could still feel the love and compassion in that kiss. It was so warm and cosy in bed with him, but Judy felt like she was in enough bother, she couldn't just skip work now. She pushed the covers off and tried to wriggle free from Nick's tight grasp. "Nick, come on!" She said slightly agitated now. "Fine!" He complained, rolling out of bed and landing on the cold hard floor. "Ow," he said, getting up. Judy couldn't help but giggle, he was such a clumsy fox sometimes. Nick raised his eyebrows at her. "Laughing at me are we, cheeky bunny?" He asked. Judy tried to stifle her laughter but it was no use. Nick rolled his eyes and grabbed his uniform from the floor, it was slightly wrinkled but there was no time to iron it. Judy's was neatly hung in her wardrobe, and Nick scoffed at her particularity. Judy gazed in awe at Nick, she always thought he looked incredibly handsome in his uniform. She didn't realise she was staring until Nick waved a paw in front of her face "Oi, Judy. What ya staring at?" He smirked. Judy shook her head quickly. "Nothing," she stuttered. "I was day dreaming," she lied. "Righttt," Nick said, smirking again. Judy rolled her eyes, he was such a sly fox. "Dumb bunny," he joked, leaving the room.
Remembering that the RV was left in the ZPD car park, Judy sighed as she realised they would have to walk to work. It wasn't too far, but it was cold, neither of them had coats. Judy shivered and Nick wrapped an arm around her, only to be shoved off. "Nick!! No!! If anyone sees you know what will happen!" She hissed. "Alright alright jeez," Nick said, holding his hands back, walking slightly further away from her. Judy's ears drooped sadly, she knew Nick couldn't help it. The thought of having to work alone, without her ray of sunshine to light up her day, it would be hard. She clenched her fists angrily, why did Bogo have to do this? Why did anyone have to complain about their love? Judy's foot tapped uncontrollably in anger, and Nick noticed. "Look Carrots I'm sorry, you know how it is don't you?" He asked, looking down at the little bunny. "Nick I'm not mad at you, it's Bogo! How could he do this to us!" She cried. "I'm going to confront him Nick, I will. He'll be sorry he ever separated us." "Judy, you know you can't do that. You can reason with him, but I know you, you'll get all super angry and probably end up losing your job." Nick explained, hoping he didn't hurt her feelings. He knew already she was a sensitive being, she didn't take kindly to being told what to do either. Judy shot him a look. "Me? Super angry?" She yelled. She realised that she had just shouted angrily at Nick , and groaned. "Nick," she began calmly. "I know what I'm doing." She ran ahead of him, leaving him behind. Nick sighed, his hot breath forming a cloud in the cold air around him. "No you don't," he whispered.
Judy was determined, she would change Bogo's mind. She would.
Walking into the ZPD, alone, without Nick, Clawhauser was shocked. "Judy? Where's Nick?" He asked her kindly. Judy looked down. "We're not partners anymore Ben," she mumbled sadly. "Aw, that's awful! But why!" Ben asked innocently. Judy didn't really want to explain the whole kiss fiasco. "Well, um, some idiots saw us hug and basically the whole situation exploded and people thought we were kissing! So now, we're not partners." Judy made up. Bogo happened to be walking past at that precise moment. She felt horrible for lying to Ben, but he was a good friend, what if he reacted negatively? She definitely didn't want to lose him.
In the corner of her eye, she could see Bogo making his way towards her. He towered above her, and she suddenly felt rather small. "Judy, a word." He stated plainly. Judy's heart sank. This couldn't be good. Her defiant plans of confronting him angrily were fading as she sat down in front of him. Her paws were clammy. She knew what was coming. "What are your thoughts on this?" Bogo asked, showing Judy a picture of herself and Nick. Her stomach churned as she laid eyes upon it. "It was a hug," she lied. "Just a hug. People have blown it way out proportion. Nick would never do that. Us as cops now it's strictly illegal to be involved in anything like this!" Judy tried to weave her way out of trouble and gain Nick as her partner again. Bogo sighed gruffly, almost like a growl. "There's no point lying Hopps. It's blatantly obvious what's happening in this picture." He told her. Tears welled up in Judy's eyes. It was obvious, she knew that, it was stupid of her to even try lying to Bogo. "I'm sorry Chief. But when you love somebody like I love Nick, and he loves me, it's hard! Especially when your love is forbidden like this. I didn't want to fall in love with him, but it just happened I guess! He felt the same along, but he didn't want to admit it either. So you see, we both knew it was wrong, but... we lost control." It felt strange pouring her heart out to Bogo, but she was glad to get it all off her chest "You can punish me all you like." She said sadly. The small bunny let the tears spill, it was hurting too much to hold them back. Bogo sighed, despite his grumpy nature, he hated seeing Judy upset. "Judy," he said. "I will let you become partners again." Judy's ears sprang up in excitement, her tear stained eyes gleamed. "One ONE condition," he roared. Judy's ears lowered. "Yes?" She asked meekly. "This never happens again," he said sternly. Judy nodded timidly. "It won't sir, I promise it won't- " Alright enough I don't care," Bogo cut her off. "Dismissed."
Of course she would still kiss Nick, obviously not in public if course. He was hers, and she was his. Nothing would break them apart, not now, not ever. She bounded out of the room faster than ever, Nick would be overjoyed when he heard the news!
