The black ghouls took a stance, their lazer red eyes fixed on their target. Long black, featherless wings about 3 feet wide on each side. Pale, creamy bones gleamed through the black skin like sprouting roots on a tree. Each deformed wing flapped in a slow, continuous motion. The dark bodies floated strong and fearlessly. Every pair of blood red eyes bore into their prey. Born in the gloomiest parts of the world, full of sadness and regret, these creatures vowed to take revenge on anything and everything. But first, they destroy those who can see them.
Quinn stood still, watching the ginormous creatures. She was utterly confused. How could she see these things? Was she hallucinating? The world was still spinning slightly, and the creatures were ready to devour Quinn as soon as she stepped outside. The voices of the students and Ms Jacobs were blurred and Quinn felt dazed. What was going on?
The spinning slowed to a stop, and Quinn regained her balance. To her surprise, the shadowy creatures had faded away. Dazed by the past few minutes, Quinn retracted her foot from the step. She wasnt going to go out there! Not when who knows what is lurking around.
Something inside her told her that they werent gone. She sensed them, just in the corner of her eye, but when she turned to look, there was nothing. Shaking her head, Quinn took a step back, stumbling over the stair and landing on the floor. Quinn. "Quinn darling, you MUST get out! The bus driver is on a schedule!" Ms Jacobs said, running towards her.
Quinn blinked up at Ms Jacobs, "didnt you see them? I cant go outside! Theyre here to get me!" Ms Jacobs shook her head, showing that she didnt understand. "But....but....." Quinn stuttered, pointing a bony finger at the clear blue sky. Ms Jacobs sadly shook her head, "come on dear, we need to take you to a doctor."
