Quinn stepped from one foot to the other, nervously waiting as Courtney unlocked the huge front door of the dark mansion. I wonder who she means by 'we'. Does she have minions? Or maybe she works for a secret organisation. Courtney unlocked the door and paused before she opened the door.
"You sure you wanna do this? Once you enter this house, your life wont be the same when you leave." Quinn rubbed her nose. She did this when she was thinking. She looked Courtney in the eyes and nodded.
Courtney slowly pushed the brass door open and stepped inside. "You can come in when you want. Just go straight down the hallway and come into the last room on the left."
Quinn nodded and watched Courtney's blonde ponytail disappear into the gloominess of the house. She took one long look at the blue car parked in the garden and stepped inside, letting the door shut behind her.
As Quinn neared the last door on the left, she heard muffled voices peeking through the shining crack. Theres no turning back now, she thought, not unless you want to go outside by yourself in the cold. Quinn took a deep breath and edged the door open.
A blinding light hit her, contrasting the gloominess of the hallway. Quinn blinked furiously, trying to regain her vision. This was giving her too many memories.
Slowly, Quinn gained sight of the crowd of people sitting on couches around a coffee table, around ten or so. All of them were staring at her.
Quinn tucked a curl of crimson hair behind her ear and flickered her gaze towards her feet. Where the hell was Courtney? The people were around her age, probably between 16 and 21.
Unsure what was meant to happen, Quinn raised her head and cleared her throat. Before she could speak, a hand grabbed her by the elbow.
Quinn spun around and came face to face with Courtney. Silently breathing a sigh of relief, Quinn muttered under her breath, "where were you? I almost made a fool out of myself!" Courtney smiled at Quinn and said, "don't worry, I'm here now."
Quinn raised an eyebrow and pulled her arm away. I don't want to be seen as weak! Courtney still stood near her, keeping a reassuring hand on her shoulder.
The teenagers still stared at the two, as if they werent allowed to speak to strangers. Courtney smiled and they all smiled back. It was obvious that they knew her. Quinn bit her lip. She wasn't sure how these people were going to help her.
"Ah, you must be Quinn. Quinn Ryder," a deep voice echoed around the room. A tall boy, almost a man, about 6 feet tall was standing in the doorway on the other side of the room. Quinn's green eyes scanned the room and landed on the hefty bloke.
Lightly tanned arms stuck out from a dark shirt, the muscles perfectly toned, the short, wavy, dark hair flopped over his eyes. His eyes. Quinn held in a small gasp of adoration.
His left eye was chocolatey brown, warm and welcoming, his right eye, the complete opposite, was ice blue, piercing and emotionless. She stared at his neck, a hint of a tattoo peeked out from under his shirt. He stepped forward, and held out a strong hand, revealing a tattooed name on his wrist.
"I'm Jackson. Jackson Grayton. You're Quinn?"
"Well....umm....yeah.....uhhh.....i guess......i mean....umm.....that's me.....Quinn Rider."--
