Charlotte's POV

"Sorry it took so long, Trying to fix my face was a struggle." I said, walking into the living room, Dylan trailing behind me. Before I could look up to see Ben, I was picked up into unknown arms.

"Mate." A voice said as they inhaled deeply. A loud growl echoed through the room, stopping me from wiggling out of the unknown guys arms.

"Andrew, put her down." A voice completely new to me growled. I looked to the source of the voice and saw Ben, but his eyes weren't blue. They were glowing gold.

"She's my mate." Andrew said. I started squirming in his arms, causing everyone to look at me.

"No, I'm not your mate." I said, finally freeing myself from his grip.

"Yes you are." He said, a flash of anger in his eyes.

"No, I'm Ben's mate." I said, taking a cautious step towards Ben. Ben grabbed me gently and held me by his side.

"Let go of my mate." Andrew growled.

"She's my mate." Ben said, his entire body shaking.

"Okay, look. I don't know what the hell is going on right now." I snapped. "I came down here to greet whatever guests we had, not to be claimed by someone I've never even seen before."

Andrew looked down at me and whimpered.

"Don't reject me." He whined.

"I don't know what the fuck that means, or how it even works. I'm in no mood to deal with this so you guys can leave." I snarled. A guy who had yet to be named stepped forward with a smirk.

"You're cute, darling. We don't want to hu-"

"I don't give a flying fuck what you want. You're going to leave, now." Before He could open his mouth to respond, I felt a searing pain in my neck. Tears flooded my eyes and I screamed.

"What did you do?" Ben asked, picking me up in his arms.

"Why isn't it working, she's my mate. She shouldn't be in pain." I squeezed my eyes shut as the pain spread from my neck to my entire body. I heard a thump, a whimper, and several growls.

"What happened?" I asked, cringing at the pain.

"Andrew tried to mark you, but he isn't your mate. Instead of feeling the pleasure of mates bonding, all you feel right now is pain. The only way for me to help you is to mark you. Is that okay, baby?" I nodded frantically, willing to do anything to make the pain go away.

"I love you." He whispered, before I felt his teeth sink into my neck. The pain of whatever Andrew did to me instantly vanished and was replaced with pure pleasure. Ben licked at my neck and kissed my jaw.

"The mark will heal over in a few hours, and It'll look like you got a tattoo." Ben said, hugging me tightly.

"I suggest you guys leave before I let Ben do what he wants to you." I breathed, looking over at Andrew, who was pinned under Dylan and Michael, and his friend.

"Yeah, yeah, let's go." Andrew's friend said, pulling Andrew up from the floor and out of the house. I glanced around the room and saw Chloe, along with a few other people I hadn't met yet.

"Luna, are you alright?" Someone I don't know asked me. Ben placed me on my feet and slid his arm around my waist.

"I- I'm fine. I'm not in pain anymore." I said, straightening out the shirt I was wearing.

"We won't let anyone come close to you again, Luna." He said, bowing his head slightly.

"Please, call me Charlotte." I said, smiling at him.

"Of course, my name is Kyle, and these are the pack warriors. We'll make sure you're safe." He motioned for the guys and Chloe to follow him, and they all nodded to me, following him out of the house.

"What just happened?" I asked, my head spinning from today's events.

"Someone from our rival pack tried to take you away from me. That didn't go over well with Xavier." Ben said, growling slightly at the end of his sentence.

"Was that who was talking?" I asked, looking up at him.

"Yes. Xavier takes over for me when he gets angry. And it'll happen more often now that we've marked you." He said, kissing my cheek.

"Well, this has been fun. Can we go visit my father?" I asked. Ben nodded and he grabbed his keys. He led us outside and helped me into his Hummer.

"I hope your father is better." Ben said, starting the drive to the hospital.

"Me too." I started feeling sad, but I was hit by an overwhelming wave of happiness.

"What was that?" I asked, clutching my head. The mood swings were making my head pound.

"You just felt my emotions. I'm extremely happy, and the mark allows you to feel what I feel, and I feel what you feel." Ben said, smiling at me.

"This is weird."

"I'm sorry baby. You'll get used to it." Ben said, grabbing my hand. A shock coursed through my body and I gasped.

"Yeah, the mark will intensify any contact we have until we complete the mating process. But we won't take it that far until you're are completely ready." He said, squeezing my hand. A blush spread across my cheeks and I laughed nervously.

"Okay." I said, playing with Ben's fingers. We pulled into the hospital's parking lot and parked close to the emergency room.

"Let's go see your dad." He said, pushing open his door. I followed his lead and hopped out of the car. Ben met me on my side and closed the door for me. He grabbed my hand and pulled me through the hospital and to the elevator.

"I know it's only been a few hours, but do you think he got any better?" I asked, feeling anxious. The elevator doors opened and Ben pushed me out the elevator gently.

"I'm sure he's better, baby." Ben said, kissing my forehead. I walked into my dad's hospital room and instantly grinned. The tubes were out of him, and he was sitting up in bed, watching the news.

"Daddy?" I asked, walking to his side.

"Hey sweetie." He said, opening his arms. I sat next to him on the bed and hugged him.

"I'm so glad you're awake." I said, pulling away from him and sitting next to his bed in a chair.

"Who're you?" My dad asked, looking behind me.

"Hello sir, my name is Benjamin, I'm your daughter's boyfriend." Ben said, reaching around me to shake my father's hand.

"Nice to meet you, Benjamin."

"Nice to meet you too, sir." My dad smiled and looked down at me.

"He has good manners. I like hi- Is that a tattoo?" He asked, his eyes traveling down to my neck. (The mark pictured above)

"Uh, yeah. I'm 18 now, and I like wolves." I said, glancing up at Ben.

"It's nice, I like it. But don't show your mother, she'd flip out." And this, ladies and gentleman, is why I love my father.

"Now that you've met my boyfriend, there are a few other things I have to tell you."

"Okay, sweetheart, shoot." Dad said, turning the T.V. off.

"I got my diploma early, because I didn't know if you'd be awake today or not."

"Okay, that's not so bad." He chuckled.

"Adam and I moved out." I blurted.

"You did what?"
