It was a school day. The first one that Dean would spend without Lucky by his side.
Everyone heard about her death. The death of Lucky Sims.
Everyone at Bester High knew about her in one way or another. As Dean walked the aisles he could feel their gaze on him.
A gaze of pity.
A gaze of sympathy.
A gaze of "oh-my-gosh-he-lost-his-girlfriend-what-should-i-do"
He didn't need their looks of pity or sympathy, he wanted to see the look of Lucky.
He wanted to see her genuine smile, the one that was reserved for him and him alone. He wanted to hear her laugh. He wanted to feel her hair tickle his neck when he held her close.
He wanted Lucky Sims back.
Sadly, she was six feet under.
