           He was here again. The place where he could only feel comforted by her. It was his fault that she was there. That she was six feet under, enclosed in hardwood with her grave, surrounded by an array flowers. They brought back the essence of beauty, of her life.

             The life that he destroyed.

              He did it. He got drunk that night in a game of beer pong.  He rejected wanting to stay at the house and drive home. It was him who drove over a red light and had a truck collide against her car door.

              He could still hear her screams of pain as he lay in his hospital bed with only a fractured arm and some bruises hear and there.

              She died later that week and even though her parents forgave him for what had happened but he couldn't forgive himself.

              He sat down on the ground next to her and suddenly he felt a warmness inside him. Like all the cold and harshness he was feeling towards himself was melting into the oblivion.
