Am I A Shadowhunter

"DUCK!" I hear my sister say. She easily dodges the seraph blade that my father had swung but I on the other hand fell flat on my butt when it hit me. "Come on Cat focus!" She and were identical but we couldn't be more different. She lived to be a shadow hunter and live up to the family name, while I wanted nothing to do with shadow hunting. What I really wanted to do was go to a public school and be in a drama club.
"That's it I'm done good-bye."I say and stormed out of the institutes training room. Where could I go? The green house! No one went up there anymore. "Ugh. Why doesn't my family get it? Every time I tell them I don't want to be a shadow hunter they laugh as if it were a joke!" I can tell that I want to cry so to calm myself down...I start singing my favorite song.

"Nice job."
I whirl around and come face to face with my brother Jared. "What are you doing here?"
"I live her little sister."
"Whatever."
"You do have a nice voice though."
"Thanks."
"Seriously, why don't you let dad hear. Maybe he'd take you seriously about going to a public school."
"How long were you listening?"
"A while. But look just tell him. Okay? I'll go with you if you want some moral support."
"No. I'm not gonna go."
"Why not?"
"Jared, I'm a Lightwood! I'm supposed to be a graceful, amazing , shadow hunter but I'm not. I can't be."
"So what?"
"Dad will be so mad. Maybe even upset."
"Who cares? You wanna know something Cat, I'll bet if you let mom and dad hear you sing then maybe he'll lighten up about the training and let you go to a public school."
"Doubt it."
"Never hurts to try right?"
"I guess."
"Let's go then."
"What? Now?"
"Yeah."
"Okay." And with that I followed him downstairs to go tell my dad what I really wanted.
