Severus walked down the hallways, Generously sneering at all students who made eye contact. He arrived at Dumbledore's office and knocked politely
"Come in" a voice beamed from inside.
Severus did as asked and took a seat in front of the headmaster.
"What is it you wished to discuss Albus?" Severus sighed
"The Yule Ball, I want you to be there to help keep an eye on the youngsters"
"Me? Albus you have Minerva, why do you have to drag me into this?" He groaned
"Severus, you need to lighten up and enjoy yourself for once" Albus insisted
"Enjoy myself? Chasing after horny teenagers trying to stop them shagging each other in the toilets? Somehow it doesn't sound like a good time to me!" Severus sneered
"What was the last Yule Ball you attended Severus?" Albus enquired knowing the answer full well. Severus arched an eyebrow at the older man
"Don't push it" he snarled becoming more and more furious
"It pains you because it reminds you of the year when Lily attended with James Potter and did nothing as he tormented you" The headmaster sighed
"I'm not going Albus, and you can push all you like. I will not be attending the Yule Ball and that is final" Severus said sternly
"Very well, that's your decision. But if you do not attend I will personally be very disappointed"
He smiled gently placing his hand on top of Severus'.
Severus flinched at Albus' touch and made his excuses to leave
Albus chased after him and stopped him "Severus, I know the reason you don't want to attend the Yule ball is because of Lily, but you need to let it go. I'm sure there is someone out there
Who see's how intelligent, kind hearted and incredibly sexy you are" Albus explained with a gentle smile
Severus blushed profusely. "Albus i......" He began but the old man cut him off
"She was never good enough for you Severus!" He told him clearly
"DON'T you EVER talk about her like that" Severus seethed, he then spun around and stormed off with his robes billowing behind him. Albus sighed to himself, 'Why can't he see how much he deserves to be loved'......
