(Y/N) loved the Academy, but she always felt like she could do something greater. For months, she started to learn on her own. She would spend her money on ninja scrolls, kunai, and different food pills. When she would get back home, she would study. Sometimes, Minato would join her. She was someone who stuck to their goals and never strayed away from her path. However, the more she learned, the smarter she was. Which meant she'd graduate from the Academy a year and a half before Minato. She thought about ditching her studies, but she wanted to be Hokage more than anything. Besides, Minato encouraged her.

Minato's P.O.V.
Exhausted, I walked into me and (Y/N)'s shared home. "I'm home!" I announced. Almost instantly, she tackled me in a hug and smiled excitedly. "Minato! I have something to show you!!" she stated. Her eyes sparkled. I blushed when I realized how close we were. For a moment, I felt like we were husband and wife. Get a grip Minato, you're thirteen. You're too young to think this way.

It's true, I'm a bit naive. However, (Y/N) makes me happy. Sure, she can be a pain sometimes, but she's made my life better ever since she's moved in. "I can use Medical Ninjutsu now, I'll show you!" she exclaimed and pulled me into her room. "I found these baby birds outside, they fell from their nest. I healed most of them, but one has a broken leg. I was about to heal him, but you came home, perfect timing, eh?" she grinned and focused her chakra on the bird.

Suddenly, her chakra turned green and the bird could walk within seconds. My eyes widened. She's getting stronger, which means..she'll leave the Academy and be a real ninja. I have to support her. I smiled at her and embraced her. "I'm proud of you." I stated. I could feel her smile into my shoulder. "Tomorrow, I'm going to perform three different jutsu to get out of the Academy. Are you okay with me graduating early?" she whispered.

I pulled away and looked into her beautiful (E/C) eyes. "I'm perfectly okay with that, I don't mind. People learn differently. You're my best friend, I would never be angry with you for graduating early. In fact, I'll support you no matter what, I'm very happy for you." I responded. Her eyes filled with tears and she smiled shyly. "Once I become a ninja, I'll get paid and we can eat out more often. I'll be safe." she promised me. Suddenly, my thoughts started to wander. She could get hurt..or worse.

I shook my head and swallowed the lump in my throat. I looked away to hide the tear that was rolling down my left cheek. I glanced at (Y/N), who held the bird and left to place it back in the nest outside. When she came back inside, I gave her a small smile. "Just promise me that you won't do anything reckless." I asked, but it sounded more like a whisper. She smiled and made me look into her eyes. "I promise I won't do anything reckless that could harm me." she reassured me. For the rest of the night, we talked about many things, then she fell asleep. I covered her and kissed her forehead.

Your P.O.V.
It was my first day being a Genin, I was excited. I get to make new friends and go explore new places outside of the village! However, Genin aren't considered real ninjas. We do the easy, terrible jobs that no one else wants to do. Do we complain? No. We're just happy thinking we're doing a lot, but it isn't much. I walked towards the area I was supposed to meet my new team. I was incredibly nervous. Would we get along?

"Where's the newbie?" a boy groaned with his arms crossed. "I think she's just nervous, we should wait a little longer." a quiet voice suggested. "Ha! You're such a loser, she's younger than us, we don't need to wait and consider her feelings!" he boy laughed. Great. I approached them. "H-Hello, you must be (Y/N). My name is Keiko. It's nice to meet you." the girl spoke and bowed respectfully. I smiled at her. "It's a pleasure to meet you Keiko. I heard you had the top grades in your class." I stated.

Even though we're on the same team, we had different classes. Her class was the class that was missing one person, so the three-man squad team wouldn't have happened if I didn't graduate early. "This here is Tada-" "I don't need you to introduce me Keiko, I'm perfectly capable of doing it myself. Now shut up!" the boy snapped. My eyes widened. How could someone be so cruel? "I'm guessing you're the loser with the worst grades of your class. Otherwise, you wouldn't have been paired with Keiko. Your instructor thought you could learn a thing or two, but you're small-minded." I stated boldly.

Keiko's eyes widened and she covered her mouth. "What did you just say!?" the boy growled. "You heard me, baka." I taunted. "You'll pay for that!!" he shouted and tried to punch me. I dodged the attack so effortlessly, it angered him. Suddenly, someone cleared their throat. "Knock it off! You graduate from the Academy and the first thing you want to do is fight? You don't even have proper training." a woman's voice scolded. I looked to see one of the legendary Sanin. Tsunade. I could feel the heat going to my cheeks.

"Lady Tsunade!" I exclaimed and bowed. Keiko did the same, but the boy just stood up straight and laughed. "Oh please, you're our sensei? Give me a break!" he scoffed. I wanted to knock his teeth out for disrespecting her. She grinned and punched a tree beside her. It was shattered into pieces. "You were saying?" she asked the boy. He was frozen with fear. "I apologize, forgive me sensei. My name is Tadashi." he quickly stated and bowed.

"Tell me all about yourselves." Tsunade ordered. Tadashi went first. "My name is Tadashi. I like food, I hate being hungry, and I wish to be strong in order to protect people." he said with a smile. "My name is Keiko. I'm an only child. I love cooking all sorts of things, I hate that I always doubt myself. I wish to become a great ninja, so I can protect my family." Keiko shyly answered. It was my turn.

I cleared my throat. "My name is (Y/N) (L/N). I'm the last of my family, I live with a friend. I love spending my time with Minato..he makes me a better person. I hate failing at things I could do. I want to become Hokage, so I can protect the village and stand beside Minato. We'll both be Hokage one day." I stated boldly. Tsunade smiled a bit. "Good. You all seem like worthy students, but first, you must pass the bell test. Get ready for tomorrow." she informed us before leaving. The bell test?

Why is there a test? What is it for? I walked home. I was confused. I stopped at the store to buy some ice cream. I thought hard about this 'test'. When I got home, I put on a smile and walked through the door. "(Y/N)? You're home early." Minato stated and formed a sweat drop. "Yeah, I met my new teammates, they're pretty nice." I stated with an exhausted sigh. "So, you made new friends?" he asked. Friends?...Would I even call them that? I nodded. "I guess you can say that." I briefly stated, not wanting to talk about it.

Suddenly, I heard a timer go off. I glanced at it and rested my head on the table. "Is that mine or yours?" I asked. "It's mine. I'll be back in a minute." Minato said while running out the door. I didn't think much of it. He's a boy, he can do whatever he wants. I still worry. I shook the thought away. There's no way I could care so much about Minato. I shouldn't feel this way about him. I sighed and hit my head on the table. "Love. Love. Love. Blah, what good is it?" I asked myself.

When Minato came back, he held two boxes full of ramen. "Why did you..?" I tried to ask, but I didn't know how to finish the sentence. "Since you're a real ninja now, you need to eat! You love ramen, so I got fresh ramen from Teuchi. Then, I bought instant ramen because I know you're impatient." Minato stated with a grin. I giggled and shook my head. "Thank you Minato." I said and embraced him in a hug. "I don't know what I would do without you by my side." "Me too."
