Rumor has it that there was a new girl in the village. All of Minato's friends said she's going to the Academy and she'll be in their class. He didn't think much of it and continued his studies. He wanted to catch up to (Y/N) and feel important again. As he listened to the teacher, he sighed in boredom. He wished he was able to perform the jutsu that was required to be done perfectly to graduate. However, his chakra control needed a little work. So all he could do was sit in that desk and listen to the lecture.

He turned to the person next to him and they talked about random topics. Suddenly, Minato was asked a question he wasn't ready to answer. "Are you in love with (Y/N)-senpai?"

Minato's P.O.V.
I could feel my heart beat faster. (Y/N)-senpai? "Why do you call her senpai?" I questioned. "Well, I admire her, but she doesn't care about us. We're still stuck in the Academy while she's practicing to become a Chunin." he stated casually. I hated to admit it, but he had a point. I also disliked the fact that there were a few boys that wanted to win (Y/N)'s heart too. However, I had the upper hand, so I wasn't too worried.

The instructor stopped talking. I looked to the front of the room to see a girl with the most beautiful hair I've ever seen. She was a bit nervous. Her blue eyes were scanning the room. "My name is Kushina Uzumaki!" she shouted out of the blue. People started whispering. I didn't hear anything else she said, I just admired her hair. I was snapped out of my thoughts when someone nudged me. "So, I'm guessing you don't have any feelings for (Y/N)?" they asked. I turned away and didn't answer.

Almost instantly, the new girl was surrounded by my classmates, but they weren't welcoming her. Instead, they began to tease her about the color of her hair. Then, they mentioned how she's an outsider and she'll never be Hokage. I wanted to do something about it, but I didn't know what to do. I ignored it, but the guilt was tearing away at me. I decided to go home for the day, there was thirty minutes left of class.

I walked around the village and wondered where (Y/N) could be. Suddenly, I was knocked over by a boy who was a year older than me. He apologized and helped me up, but quickly continued on his path. He stopped in front of a girl and sheepishly apologized for his tardiness. I glanced at the girl, but I didn't care. Is that? My eyes widened. I looked at the girl again. (Y/N)..

I felt a pang in my heart. What was she doing with this guy? I watched them walk away. I decided not to follow them, that's pretty disrespectful to watch spy on both of them. How about for safety reasons? I asked myself. I shook my head. "She's stronger than me, how can I protect her?" I whispered to myself. I decided to take a walk on the other side of the village. During my walk, I had one thing on my mind. The Uzumaki girl.

She has really pretty hair. I wonder what type of person she is. Is she nice, mean, or something very different? I want to know now. She's very intriguing. Behind her dark blue eyes, she's hiding something. She's beautiful now that I think about it. I grinned and walked home. Maybe tomorrow, I'll talk to her.

Your P.O.V.
I was partnered with a Chunin to compete in the baking contest. I wanted to make the most delicious cake I could possibly make. However, my partner didn't have much experience with baking. So, I invited him over to practice making different cakes and pies. He got the hang of it pretty quickly. We decided to taste the desserts we made and choose which is the best.

We sat down at the table and ate a slice of each dessert. "Wow, this tastes amazing! We're going to win for sure!" he exclaimed. I smiled sheepishly and tucked a strand of hair behind my ear. "Before my parents died, my mother taught me how to bake a cake. She never liked the ones you can buy at the store. Everything was homemade." I explained. He gave me a soft smile. "She taught you well." he stated.

Suddenly, the front door opened revealing Minato, who looked upset. "Hey Minato!" I chirped happily. His eyes met mine. He glanced at Kou. "This is Kou, Kou this is my friend Minato." I introduced them. Minato kept his eye on Kou. "Nice to meet you" Kou smiled and held his hand out for Minato to shake. "If you excuse me, I have some work to do. I won't be home until later on." Minato stated blankly and started to walk away. My eye twitched. Kou shifted in his chair uncomfortably. I slammed my hand on the table and made Minato turn around. "What's gotten into you?! You're acting really stupid right now, you know that!?" I growled.

Minato's eyes narrowed. "You shouldn't be bringing other people in our home, he could be a thief!" Minato shouted. I walked towards him and looked up at him. "Kou is not a thief! We're participating in the baking contest. You're such an idiot! What's the big deal about me bringing Kou here!? You always have friends over!" I retorted angrily. I felt embarrassed. Minato opened his mouth to say something, but he stormed out of the house and slammed the door.

My eyes were filled with tears. I didn't want to cry in front of Kou. I would look weak. I quickly wiped my tears away and smiled at Kou. "I'm sorry you had to see that." I apologized. "It's fine. That boy really cares about you." Kou smiled and placed his hand on my shoulder. "You're still too young to recognize and admit it, but you two care a lot about each other." he stated. He was right, I did. I cared about him more than a friend. "I'll bring the pie we chose tomorrow. I have somewhere to be. You can take home the pie we ate." I stated. Kou took the pie and left.

I decided to find Minato to apologize. I searched the whole village, but I couldn't find him. On my walk home, I spotted him talking to our other friends. I didn't want to interrupt them, so I just walked back home. As soon as I walked through the door, I collapsed on the couch and fell asleep.
