I'll Always Love You. (Minato x Reader)

Promise

"Minato, you know I can't beat you at speed, so why challenge me?" (Y/N) grumbled with her arms crossed. Minato chuckled at his best friend's behaviour. "Because, I want to see how fast you've gotten. We haven't raced in a while, so why not? Come on, stop being such a girl." Minato teased with a smile. He knew that would convince (Y/N) to race with him.

She wasn't into staying inside like most eleven year old girls would. She loved trying to improve her skills as a kunoichi. Plus, she always liked to train with Minato and some of their other friends.

"Alright, but don't cry if I beat you." (Y/N) chuckled and punched Minato's arm. He grinned and rubbed his arm. "Heh. I won't." He said. Minato threw a kunai at the tree branch that hung above them. "When the first leaf falls, we start." He said and (Y/N) nodded. She patiently waited while the first leaf took it's time to land on the ground.

As soon as it did, they took off. They both used their chakra to boost their speed. When they got to the finish line, (Y/N) collapsed with a smile. "I won." She happily stated. Minato collapsed next to her and tried to catch his breath. "You're faster than before. You beat me by two seconds. Good job." He congratulated with a thumbs up.

"Since I win, you should treat me out to some ramen." (Y/N) grinned. "Alright, let's go!" Minato excitedly said and pulled (Y/N) up. They walked to Ichiraku's and discussed different topics. "Minato?" (Y/N) said with a mouthful of ramen. "What is it (Y/N)?" Minato asked before eating his ramen.

"I was wondering..we're still going to be the village's Hokage someday right?" (Y/N) asked, but it sounded like an unsure statement. Minato drank his glass of water and grinned at his best friend. "No matter what happens, I'll always be your best friend. Yes, we are going to be Hokage, believe it." Minato chuckled with a thumbs up.

"Promise?" (Y/N) asked with her pinky raised up. Minato smiled and interlocked his pinky with hers. "I promise." Minato confirmed. "Just think, I'm going to be the village's first female Hokage." (Y/N) said while looking towards the Hokage faces. "And I'm going to be the Fifth Hokage." Minato said with a smile.

(Y/N) raised an eyebrow in confusion. "Fifth? What about the Fourth?" She asked her best friend, who was paying for their ramen. "I'm looking at her. As I was always told, ladies first." Minato stated with a grin. (Y/N) blushed and giggled. "Minato, you knucklehead. Thanks for dinner, I'll see you tomorrow!" She bowed and started to run away. Minato followed her, but made sure she didn't notice.

As usual, she would make it home safely. He did this everyday, since they became friends. He was very protective of her and didn't want to lose her. "Glad you made it home." Minato whispered, while watching (Y/N) walk inside of her house. Once she was inside, he quickly ran home.
