Trapped

"This is so exciting!!!!" I cheered jumping up and down while holding Barrett's arm. We were walking to calculus class together for the first time. It was the first day of school and I was so damn excited!! I fixed my black overalls as I adjusted my white top. "I wonder what we'll be learning in this class!!" I beamed running towards the door. "Probably calculus." Barrett teased fixing his flannel as I punched his arm. "Shut up!" I joked as we entered the room.

"Skylar? Skylar, wake up."

I opened my eyes a little to see Barrett's arm wrapped around my waist and his chin buried into the crook of my neck. "Where's everybody?" I asked trying to sit up. The weight of Barrett's arm on my waist ended up pulling me down and back next to him. "There probably wandering around. Let's go, I need to try and get the radio working again." Barrett yawned as we both got up. Barrett went to where the radio was while I walked out of the lobby. 

I can't believe what just happened last night. 'We kissed, Barrett and I kissed. That was actually my first kiss!!' I was in deep though went I bumped into Grover. "Hey Grover, how are you holding up?" I asked as I placed a hand on his shoulder. He looked at me with tired and depressed eyes. "Okay, wanna help me take care of Mary?" He asked trudging to the nurse's office. I nodded my head and walked with him to the nurse's office, when we opened the door.... Mary was gone. Flat out gone!! 

"Grover." I stammered as he ran over to the bed. "Where the hell is Mary?!" I asked as I picked up a leather belt. It was completely chewed up, they still looked fresh! "ARGH!" We heard something snarl. We both turned to see Mary tackle Grover to the ground. "GROVER!!" I screamed. He was fighting with all his strength as I looked around the room to help him out. There was a glass jar near the table full of Popsicle sticks and cotton swabs, I lunged for it and grabbed the jar before slamming in straight into Mary's skull.

Grover proceeded to kick Mary off of him before I grabbed his hand. "We need to get out of here!" I screamed again. Before we could run, Mary grabbed a hold of my leg and pulled me to the ground. "AHHH!" I cried as she pinned me to the ground, I kicked and screamed with all my might, but it wasn't working. As I was screaming and kicking, I felt her get off my body. I looked to see Grover throwing her out the room and shutting the door. "Um, I hope you realize.... YOU JUST LET HER LOOSE!!" I spat out at him as he face palmed himself.

 We looked out the door to see her jump up and attempt to eat us through the door. "Mary, it's us, Grover and Skylar." Grover called out; he was trying to reach Mary. But it didn't seem to be working. "I'm your brother! She's your best friend!" Grover kept trying. It was hard to watch someone lose another person that was close to them. "Mary please! This is your brother here!" I cried, she looked at me with grey and green eyes. I know somewhere deep down, Mary is still there. "Please come back to us Mary." I whispered as I let a few tears roll down my cheeks. Mary continued to stare us down until she turned her head. "Mary?! Mary no!!!" Me and Grover called but it was too late, she bolted down the hallway snarling and growling like a rabid animal. 

Grover opened the door and chased after her. I followed behind him, Grover leaned down and grabbed a giant piece of wood and proceeded to run faster. When we reached the end of the hall, she was gone. The only thing out of place, the door to the student lounge was swinging back and forth. "She's in there." I whispered to Grover pointing to the door. He nodded and we both began to make our way to the door. Grover slowly pushed it opened and I walked inside. "Mary?" I whispered; she couldn't have gotten very far. We continued to search the lounge, until we bumped into someone! "Ah!" I gasped while Grover got his stick ready, "Shit! Grover, Skylar." Violet gasped trying to catch her breath. "Violet?! Are you okay?" I asked still shaken from her popping up out of nowhere. 

She looked at me and shook her head. "I thought you were that! What was that?!" Violet asked us. I looked at Grover, he looked broken about what happened. "Mary." Was all he said. "She turned." He began to walk out of the room, I stood there with Violet watching me. "We need to tell the others! She's in the north stairway!" I said as we both left. We went and looked everywhere to see that everyone was in the cafeteria. "What's wrong?" Natalie asked as me and Violet stormed into the room. "It's Mary!" I told them. "She turned into one of them." Violet added. Everyone looked at each other while we explained the situation to them.
