Ernest Hemingway once said that in order to write all one must do is, "sit at a typewriter and bleed." That quote has inspired the title of this collection of mine. I think that poetry is the overflow of pure emotion from the heart onto the page and, regardless of where or to whom you were born, it is a uniform human experience that transcends language. Thus, I believe that everyone can relate to raw emotion leaked into writing.
Personally, my poetry does not shy away from taking inspiration and setting from the giants that will continue to inspire the next generation of writers. These men and women include Dante, Poe, Dickinson, Hemingway, Faulkner, Milton, and so many more. I commend you, the reader, for spying these references to such immortals and their masterpieces.
I hope this poetry connects with every emotion you can think of and encourages you to find the beauty in your own darkness or pain or love or light. I encourage you, the reader, to attempt the, at times, brutal yet self-enlightening journey of writing and if you have begun this endeavor, please feel free to leave your own works in the comment section and I would love to read your emotion.
Please enjoy mine.
