One two three. Three two one. One two three. Three mom one. One two three.
I look again and see my mother getting out of a cab. I jolt and grab my bag and climb up the metal stairs to the roof.
My adrenaline rush was going hay wire.
I leaned over the rail and peeked down to my ledge. She had just got the window open.
"EMILEE PARRILLA! ¡TU CULO AQUÍ AHORA!" I winced. She looked up but I had pulled my head back in time so she didn't see me. Hopefully.
Get your ass here now.
I ran over to the side of the building and looked down at the rope. I grabbed it and held it in my hand.
I looked over my shoulder once before I started to scale down the rope. Some one had grabbed the rope when I was half way down. I looked up to see my mother climbing down after me.
My eyes went wide at the pace she was going. I looked below me to see Turner and Fred waiting. I went down one more foot till I was at Kylee's spare bedroom window. I opened it and crawled inside. I closed and locked the window.
"Kylee!" I shouted.
"Emilee? What are you doing? Oh god that's your mother." She grabbed my arm and led me to her room. I opened her closet and made it look like I might be in there.
I climbed out her window and onto the stairs. She locked her window and waved. I smiled before I ran as fast and quiet as I could.
I got down to the street and stuck to the shadows in the ally not taking any chances.
I ran about two blocks before a black car pulled up in front of me and I was pulled into the car when I tried to run the opposite direction.
When I got my bearings I was sitting in the back seat next to a woman wearing black. But her blonde hair caught my attention.
"Jen." I breathed. I turned to try and open the door but it wouldn't budge even when I unlocked it.
"Child lock does come in handy doesn't it?" She took her shades off and her hat. "Now tell me why your mother told me to drive the streets until I found you." I rolled my eyes and stuck to the side. "This will do." The car stopped and she got out. "Come along kid." I obeyed taking my chances. "I trust you won't run away." I nodded. And walked with her.
"So." I stick my hands in my pockets.
"Scaled down the building aye?" She laughed. When she looked away I took my chance and ran down into the subway. I glanced behind me and all she did was walk. I knew she expected it to happen but she didn't know I knew how to get out of a subway with out attracting attention.
I looked at the cameras and smiled. They had all turned to me like expected. I ran to the ladies room and unlocked the janitor closet. I went into the locker room and closed the door. I turned the lights on and went over to a locker.
I opened the metal grid and opened the back of it. When I was through it I grabbed the grate and pulled it closed.
I backed up and pushed the back of the locker closed. I was now in the men's room janitor closet.
"Emilee what have you done now?" I looked up to see Philip.
"You got my clothes?" He nodded. I stripped down to my underwear and and took the boy skinny jeans from him. I placed my clothes in my bag and put my hair in a pony tail. I took the Kansas City black hoodie and grabbed the rest of my things.
When I was dressed I was wearing black, boy skinny jeans, the black hoodie, Jordan's, my hair was up in a bun hidden under a beanie. My glasses were in its case in my bag. He handed me my wallet and chain. I tucked it in my back pocket. I wasn't afraid of changing in front of him because he was only two years older and gay. So it didn't really matter.
"Here." He gave me a fake goatee. "Alright here's the phone it's good." I hugged him.
"Thanks." I whispered.
"I still don't like that your running." I sighed before leaving.
I walked out of the men's room and walked to the train that had arrived a couple minutes ago. I looked out the window to see a couple cops coming down the stairs and Jen standing out side the women's room annoyed. We made eye contact but she didn't know who I was. I saw Philip and all he did was wave.
Philip is my best guy friend. He's helped me with just about everything. He works down here to support his mom and dad. His mom works to shifts and his dad is paralyzed from the waist down because of a bomb that exploded when he was in Iraq four years ago.
The train started moving but was stopped and cops started to check the train. I grabbed the phone and sat like a guy and played stack.
They walked right by me with out looking at me twice.
A woman at the front of my car made a fuss when mistaken for me.
"Do I look like a fifteen year old girl to you?" She snapped.
"Ma'm this girl has run away from home it is important that if you see her that you contact us."
"I don't even know what this girl looks like." He held up a photo of me. "That's Lana Parrilla's daughter." They had a small conversation. An older lady sat next to me when the cops had de boarded.
"So what have you done?" She whispered. I looked at her confused. "Don't give me that look. Your the one their looking for ain't they?" I just kept quiet. "It's alright dear whatever you've done your mom will just be glad when your home." She tapped my knee.
"What your name?" I said in a low whisper.
"Names Agnes. What's yours?" She smiled and winked. "Your boy name." I smiled remembering the name I had picked out.
"Bonds. James Bond." We shook hands.
"Such a nice young man." I smiled. "I'll help you but you have to promise me one thing. You'll write to you mother to make things right young man." I nodded. My last stop that night was just out side of New York. Vermont.I have no idea why in each book Emilee runs away! I honestly don't know.
