I sat at the table eating the salad quietly while everyone talked about their days. I've been back for about a month and the first week mom wouldn't leave my side or at least the same building as me. I'm glad she wants me to feel loved.
"Emilee." I looked up to see Fred talking to me.
"Huh?" He smiled.
"You're going back to school next week and you also get to get started on your drivers test." He smiled.
"Cool." I took another bite.
"After dinner boys I want you to go get your things ready so you can go to your mothers. Fred I need you to replace the bathroom lights they are flickering." My mom stated getting up with her plate and going to the sink.
"Can we take our X-box with us?" Matt asked shoveling food into his mouth.
"No there's one there." Patt stated. I downed my drink and got up as well.
I placed my dishes in the sink and rinsed off my plate.
"Em stay down here." My mother called before I got to the stairs. I sighed and went and sat on the couch pulling out my phone and scrolling through Facebook.
About a half hour later there was a knock at the door.
I looked up but realized no one else heard it. I groaned and grabbed the edge of the cushions and pulled my lanky body off of the dark brown leather couch and onto my feet. I walked lazily to the door before peeping through the peep hole.
On the other side stood a woman in a business suit with her hair up and sunglassesresting on her freckled nose.
I opened the door and she smiled.
"Hey Emilee long time no see." She smiled. I put on a fake smile and let her hug me.
"The boys should be down in a moment. Would you like to come in?" I asked being polite.
"Yes that would be nice." she placed the black rimed sunglasses on top of her head neatly.
I closed the door behind her and walked into the living room.
"Jack! Patrick! Matt!" I yelled up the stairs. Lola sat next to my feet and nudged my hand with her moist brown nose.
"Mom!" Pat said excitedly and walked down the stairs with his suitcase and a back pack over his shoulder.
"Boys be good for your mother now!" Fred yelled from the hallway. He was bringing his things to fix the bulbs.
My mother stayed where ever she was because she doesn't like talking to her husbands ex-wife.
The other woman smiled as she walked to the door with her boys.
"Have fun guys." I called after them. In return I heard a jumble of "you too" and "we will". After they were gone I walked back to the couch but was tackled to the cushions.
"God." I mumbled feeling the weight of my mother on top of me.
"I'm not that heavy." She whispered in my ear moving her body so her legs, were on either side of my body.
"Why awre yo on twop of me?" My face was smashed into the leather below.
"Because I like laying on top of my daughter." I started laughing and she hit my shoulder. "You're so dirty minded!" She accused.
"What did I fowrget to wash it?" I laughed harder making her laugh as well.
"Who gave you such a dirty mind?" She giggled.
"Sammy." We both laughed knowing that he was in fact dirty minded.
She sat up so she was sitting right behind my butt and started to rub my back. I moaned into the touch. Her hands moved swiftly relaxing my tight muscles that never seemed to rest.
"Wow you have a lot of back and shoulder muscle." She whistled.
I closed my eyes and let her do what she wanted. She soon moved up to my neck and messaged the back of my head as well.
"Emilee." Her voice soft.
"Hm?" I moved my head to the other side and glanced at her.
"Have you talked to Kylee?" I sighed and nodded my head.
"Yeah. We talked last night she misses me." She hummed.
"If you want to go back so you can be closer to her you can." I shook my head slightly.
"I want to be closer to you." A loud thundering knock came from the front door causing me to groan because she stopped and got up.
"Go get the door." I nodded and dragged myself to the large wooden door. I didn't bother seeing who it was before I opened the door. But as soon as I opened it I closed it and locked the door.
"Emilee I'm sorry please open the door!" She yelled. I rolled my eyes and walked back to see my mother with a raised brow.
"Who's that?" She questioned. I just laid back down. "Fine I'll go see who it is." She grumbled and walked to the door. A few minutes later she walked back.
"You send the bitch away?" She nodded.
"You don't have to talk to her but I'm still talking to her mother. We both agreed that what she did was wrong and you don't have to be her friend but you should forgive because the weight of hatred will do you no good." I sat up as she sat next to me. She pulled me into a hug from behind.
"I love you." She kissed the top of my head and grabbed the TV remote.
