I spent the next thirty minutes leaning against the shower wall, thinking about Lorenzo and what was beginning to transpire between us but I kept seeing a portion of Stefano's letter in my mind.
Please don't spend your life missing me...How do I not do that? I really want to tell Lorenzo, even Luciano but for the last two years I've lived my life in fear and trusting people was hard for me to do.
"Stefano, please tell me what to do" I whispered against the shower wall. Exhaling a deep breath, I finished washing my hair and conditioning it and then shaved.
Once done, I dried off and then used the blow dryer on my hair, straightening it and then I applied some light makeup that Milan had brought over with the clothes.
Walking to my closet, I perused the clothing that she'd given me and found some torn skinny jeans and a cabled ribbed gray sweater tank and gray Uggs.
I looked in the mirror that hung in my closet and was completely happy with how I looked. Even my eye was getting better, especially after the makeup.
I went and gathered the ingredients for the sides for our dinner tonight and had decided on Dijon glazed carrots and roasted baby leeks with bacon and for dessert panna cotta with a blackberry purée and fresh whole blackberries.
My stomach was growling just thinking about it, so after making sure I had everything together, I sat off cleaning up and straightening up the house.
I started upstairs, gathered my towels, then I went to the twins room, made their bed and gathered their laundry. Cleaned both bathrooms and headed back down and did laundry.
While it was going, I gave the kitchen a good cleaning and after that I started to set the table when the phone on the counter rang.
I wondered if I should pick it up and went ahead and answered it when it just kept ringing. "Hello?" I said shyly. "Ms. Shea, this is Pauly at the security gate. I have a package from Don Lorenzo and I was asked to deliver it to you."
Something from Lorenzo? What on earth? "Uh, do I come to the front door or the back door?" I asked. "Back door, miss" Pauly said. "Okay" I said, not really knowing what else to say at this point.
I heard a light rapping at the door and went to answer it, finding a giant of a man on the other side, I stepped back a bit.
He was about Lorenzo's height, dark black hair that was tied in a man bun, dark brown eyes and a scar that went horizontally across his left eye.
"Pauly?" I asked. "Yes ma'm" he said, smiling slightly and handing me a package. I took it and said thank you and watched him walk away, back to his station I had guessed.
Laying the package down, I unwrapped it and couldn't believe my eyes. He'd bought me an I-phone 7! My hands were shaking as I removed it from the box, a note fluttered to the ground.
Ms. Quinn, Per Mr. Siranni, I have added several apps that he thought you would like. You are on his plan and he and his brother are in your contacts list. If you go to the settings and look for the phone tab, you will see what your number is.
My phone vibrated in my hands and saw it was a text message. Lorenzo: Fiore, call me when you receive this, please. ;)
I hadn't felt my heart react in that way since..."Damn it! I've got to quit comparing everyone to Stefano" I mumbled while staring at my new phone.
Looking in my contacts, I found Lorenzo's number and hit Dial before I chickened out on him and myself and I didn't have to wait long before he picked up.
