Camila's POV, December 25th, Canada

My dad wakes me up at 9:15am like I asked him to. I'm meeting up with my three childhood friends, Jannah, Makayla and Mathieu.

I take a shower, do my normal makeup and put my hair into a messy bun. Then I put on a pair of burgundy ripped jeans, an army green hoodie and a pair of black heeled ankle boots. I run into the kitchen, grab an apple from the fruit bowl, ask my mom for her keys, grab my purse, my jacket, and I'm out.

On my way to our usual meeting place, Luke's diner, I stop at Starbucks to get our usual, two medium pumpkin spice lattes, one medium latte with extra shot and one chai latte.

Once I get to the diner, everyone's there.

"Camila!" Makayla shouts.

The three of them get up, and Makayla, Jannah and I hug each other and exchange a few I miss you's and it's good to see you's. Then I walk over to Mathieu, and he smiles big at me and picks me up in a twirling hug.

"I've missed you so much," he says.

"Me too, how are you guys?" I ask them.

"We're good. You know, same old same old," Makayla says.

"And your parents?" I ask.

"They're good, they wanna see you," Jannah says.

"Well I can stop by before getting ready for tonight."

"Dad's side party?" Mathieu asks me.

"Yup."

"You have no idea how much I'm happy to see you, even if it's only for a few hours. Ever since you've moved to California, I've been hearing about boys, makeup, hair, and shit. And since Alex is in New York for university, I'm always surrounded with four girls," Mathieu says.

Mathieu and Jannah are brother and sister, and so are Makayla and Alex. Both there parents are divorced. Mathieu and Jannah's mom, and Makayla and Alex's dad got married. I met them a week after they were officially a family. They were sent grocery shopping to have some type of bonding experience. They were fighting over getting Oreos or Chips Ahoys. They didn't have enough money for both, so they asked me which one was better. When I agreed with the girls that Oreos were better, the boys starting and I started arguing, so to shut them up, I gave them $10. The girls and I ended up running out of the store with stolen skittles and Oreos, and we left the boys behind to deal with the groceries. And then we started hanging out together more and more often, and we became super close.

"Well I'm here now for a few hours, so we can talk about sports as much as you want," I tell him. "Oh! are you guys coming this year for our New Years Party?"

"I think we are, cause we're doing things different this year for New Years. So it's very possible," Jannah says.

"Yay! I can show you guys around California! It'll be so fun!" I say excitedly.

We all cheer, and Luke comes over to take our orders, "Camila, how are you? It's been a while."

"I'm good, you?"

"Good. I'm guessing you're all gonna have your holiday usual?" Luke says.

"Aw you didn't forget, how sweet," I tell him.

"You guys have been doing the same things since you were God knows how old, it's kinda hard to forget."

We laugh and Luke goes to place our orders. And we all continue talking.

Once it's three in the afternoon, I drop by to say hi to there parents. They give me my usual Christmas present, a Tim Hortons gift card, to make sure that I come back to Canada to visit.
