Camila's POV: (Tuesday 2, a week later)
"Camz, could we hang out today? I miss you," Sofia says.
"I'd love too, but don't you have school?" I ask her
"No, no school today. Come on let's go shopping!" she says excitedly.
"Wait, how come you don't have school?" I ask her.
"Oh we have a four day weekend. We didn't have school yesterday either."
"Ok then. Let me go get dressed and we can go."
I rush upstairs and put on some black high waisted shorts, a mesh long sleeve black crop top, red vans, my normal makeup and I put my hair up in a fancy bun. I grab my phone and wallet and put them in my purse. Then I go downstairs, and Sofia and I get in the limo and our driver brings us to the mall.
~~~
"Ok. Now that we've found some clothes for you, I have this party Friday, and I need an outfit," Sofia says.
"Ok, what kind of party is it?" I ask her.
"A house party."
"Hum, ok. Come," I say and grab Sofia's hand and drag her to plenty of stores.
~~~
It's now 4:15pm and we're on our way back home. I have to change and go to my soccer practice that's in half an hour. I bought so much clothes it's crazy. Sofia did too, but not as much. After an hour we finally found an outfit for Sofia's party.
~~~
"Sorry I'm late. I was shopping with my little sister, and it took us so much time to find an outfit for her, then I couldn't find my cleats, and I was stuck in traffic, but I'm here now." I say to my coach in a rush."It's ok don't worry just run a lap around the field," my coach tells me.
~~~
Practice is over, and I'm in the locker rooms. I'm about to leave when a girl on my team, Sydney, comes up to me.
"Your little sister, Sofia, goes to Beverly Hills High School, right?" she asks me.
"Ya, why?"
"When did you leave to go shopping?" Sydney asks.
"Around eleven."
"Doesn't she have school?"
"Um Sofia told me that they had a long weekend," I say.
"Ok, well I'm not trying to get your little sister in trouble, but my sister goes to the same school. She's in the same grade as her, and she had school today. I heard from my sister that she hasn't been going to school for the past week. Maybe it's not true, but just in case, you should ask her."
"Uh, wow... Um, thanks, I'll ask her."
"No problem, see you tomorrow," Sydney says.
"Ya, see you tomorrow."
~~~
I just arrived home. I go through the tunnel that leads to my aunt and uncles house and look for Sofia.
"Camila, what are you doing here? Aren't you staying at the dorms?" My uncle asks me.
"Oh ya, but I decided to come back home for a little," I say. "Where's Sofia?"
"Oh ok. Um, I think she's in her room."
"Thanks."
I go up to Sofia's room and knock on her door.
"Come in," Sofia says.
"Hey, so tomorrow your school continues, right?" I ask her.
"Ya, unfortunately. I miss you, Daniela, Eric and Max. Your all always gone."
"Well we're very busy with school, but if you want, sometimes after you finish school, you can come to our dorms."
"Really? That'd be awesome!" She says excitedly. "So, why are you here? Is there something you wanna tell me?"
"Ya, actually there is... After soccer practice, one of my friends, Sydney, told me that her little sister goes to the same school as you, and she had school. How come you didn't?"
"Oh she's probably in a different grade. Grade 8 didn't have school," she says nervously.
"Sofia, she's in the same grade as you. Don't lie to me, please. Is it true that you haven't been to school for the past week?"
Sofia looks at me, and then looks away. When she looks at me again, she has tears rolling down her cheeks.
"I-I'm sorry Camila. I didn't mean to lie to you. It's-it's been a h-hard few weeks at s-school," she says.
"What's going on? Are you overwhelmed with work. Have you've been having trouble in math or something?" I ask her worried.
"No. My grades are still high 80's low 90's. It's-it's the g-girls at school. They keep on teasing me, and making up fake rumours about me. And-and they just won't stop. I've been trying to pretend like it doesn't affect me, but it is. I'm trying to be as strong as you, but I can't. How do you do that? It's not fair!" Sofia says while bawling her eyes out.
"Why didn't you tell me before? You should of went to mom, or dad or Eric or me anyone, earlier."
"I know, but I thought that that would make me look weak."
"Why are they doing this? What are they saying?" I ask Sofia.
"They think that I get everything that I want, because of all our money. They're all saying that I should be ashamed that my parents didn't want me. That I'm ugly... But I heard someone saying that they were gonna make my life hell because they were jealous. I- I don't understand! What should I do?"
"Oh Sofia, don't believe what they're saying. You are an amazing person. You are smart, loyal, funny, beautiful, stunning... extraordinary lady. And it's mom and dads loss. Don't listen to them they're all stupid bastards. Keep your head up high, and not let what they're saying affect you. They're all jealous, they aren't comfortable in their own skin. If you ignore them, they'll stop. Find your real friends, focus on your studies, and flip them off. Ok?"
"O-ok. Thank you so much Mila. I love you," Sofia says.
"I love you too," I say and kiss her head. "Do you promise me next time you'll come to one of us right away?"
"I promise."
