It's been about three weeks since I been caring for Y/N. It's been such a joy caring for her. It was like she was more than just my patient. The way she looked at me and the way she smiled at me. I just felt an instant connection. There was something there and I knew it. It was actually about time for her to go home soon, but first I had to make sure she was good to be walking again.

I knocked on her door before I walked inside.

"Hello Y/N, how are you feeling today?"

"I'm feeling alright I guess, I'm just bored being in this bed."

"Well good news it that we are going to try walking a bit. So, let's get you up on your feet." I said before walking over to her as I helped her put her feet on the ground.

I had her put her arm around me as I helped her up.

"I-It still hurts."

"It will get better, I promise." I said softly to her as I looked at her for a moment. She looked at me before she started to take a step at a time.

Her body was against mine on each side. I felt so close. I had chills up my spine by just being so close to her. I had her walk around the big hospital room for a little bit as I was trying to get her used to walking.

"How is it going?" I asked.

"It's starting to get better, it just hurts to bend over."

"Just take it very slowly. I'll have you wear a cast around your ribs for about maybe a month until the pain starts going away from the inside." I replied.

Suddenly, I felt her loose her balance. I quickly caught her as I had my arms wrapped around her. She had her arm still wrapped around my neck as my arms were around her waist. She stared into my eyes as were on hers.

"Thank you, I guess I'm just not used to being back on my feet again after so long."

"It's not problem." I said softly.

I quickly turned to the door to see that it was Y/N mother who stood by the door.

"W-What's going on here?" she asked as she eyed the two of us suspiciously. I quickly let go of Y/N but I helped her stand straight.

"Dr. Jackson is just helping me get used to walking around the room. But, I keep loosing my balance so he caught me before I fell."

"Oh okay, I see. Well, thank you. Do I actually get to take her home yet?"

"Actually I was just about to go call you. Yes, you can take her home. I'll need you to make sure she keeps her cast on. She can take it off during night time but she can not sleep on her stomach unless she has a pillow under. I'll be prescribing her some medication to help the pain and help the healing process faster." I explained.

"Alright that sounds good, Thank you so much."

"Of course. Let me get a nurse to get a wheelchair to wheel her out." I said as I went to get a nurse.

Just when we were getting somewhere, her mother just had to ruin it all for us. I had the nurse help Y/N into the wheelchair as they were walking to the car. The nurse helped her up as Y/N turned to me.

"Thank you again Dr. Jackson. I don't know what I would do without you." She said as she gave me a big hug.

"Aw, it's really not a problem." I said as I held her against me.

"You really are my one and true hero." She whispered in my ear.

Her words just touched me and they meant a lot. She pulled away as I gave her a big smile.
