JASE:
Pounding music echoed throughout the club, I watched as Vincent was dragged off into the crowd with a smiling face and I laughed. God, how did he even know about this place?! I leaned back against the bar looking around the dim-lit place with girls who were wearing as little clothes as possible moving their bodies like they didn't care. The beat of the music making me slightly nod my head along in time.
“Hey honey. Can I interest you in the greatest night of your life?” I turned my head to see a young blonde lady standing next to me; she licked her lips as I stared at her with a polite smile.
“No, thanks. I'm good.” I told her flatly, she stared at me like there was clearly something wrong with me. I thought about it for a moment, I just turned 18 and I just turned down one of the hottest ladies in the club – if I was her I'd be asking what was wrong with me.
“Is...There like something wrong with you? I'm clearly attractive.” She used her hands to cup her boobs for a moment, tempted. I did look...for a moment. Maybe more than a moment. I AM A HORMONAL MALE. DON’T JUDGE.
“Clearly you're very, very attractive.” I told her, taking a sip of my beer. She looked at me utterly confused and sometimes I hated being a genius. I thought that statement would send her on her way, seeing that I wasn't interested in the slightest. Trust me; she was very, very attractive as I told her. Large boobs and booty to match, anybody would turn twice if she walked into a silent room – hell I could see plenty of people eyeing her.
“Are you stupid or something? I'm clearly hitting on you. I-I don't get it.” She looked utterly confused. I stared at her for a moment as she ran a hand through her hair trying to figure me out. “Oh god. Are you gay?” She gasped like she was horrified. “I have a pretty good gay-dar. Oh my god...can't believe I just hit on a gay.” She shook her head and walked off. I raised my eyebrow in amusement as she stormed off.
“Not gay.” I mumbled draining what I think was my third beer. My left hand was in my pocket feeling my phone; I was so tempted to call Kay. I just wanted to hear her voice on my birthday – come on! How the hell could she forget it's my birthday? We NEVER forgot.
OKAY. OKAY. I understand I sound like a whiny little love-sick best friend. Do you blame me? It's my birthday... That seemed to be a very good argument – in fact it was almost perfect. I took out my phone, the screen lit up and the picture of me and her when we were 13 popped up and I chuckled.
I'm gonna call herrr...
Totally call her.
GOING TO CALL HERRRR.
“Oh the things we could do if we were still 13.” I laughed, until I realised I wasn't alone, I turned my head slightly to see a man staring at me. I smiled and waved at him, he nodded his head and then I realised he must have heard what I just said.
“Oh...no. No. I'm – I am not talking to – that wasn't intende – I mean...I was talking to a picture.” I told him holding up my phone, he nodded his head. I could tell – even drunk; I could tell he thought I was a lunatic.
“Okay.” He told me, stepping slightly away from me. I looked around, everyone seemed to be out on the dance floor partying with the girls and I was standing at the bar with this man I didn't know.
