The day has finally arrived that he was coming over after school to work on the play. Sadly I couldn't get my parents out of the house and we are stuck with them for the afternoon. Great.
We walk to my house and find my dad working in the garden.
"Hi, I'm Ryan." He introduces himself to my dad, holding out his hand. My father looks at his hand and completely ignored the gesture and gave him a hug.
"Welcome, make yourself feel at home!"
They then started talking about different plant and soil and other shit that I couldn't care any less about. I zoned out and was really bored with the conversation but they kept talking on and on as if they've been friends for ages. Creepy to think the guy I find cute has a same interest as my father.
"Well we better get started," I say trying to get us out of the conversation. As we make our way into my house, my dad grabs my arm and whispers so that only I can hear, "He's a keeper."
We go up to my room and sit at the window.
Ryan POV
Wow, her room is beautiful. There is a big window, with a dream catcher hanging from it, looking out on the garden. You can see the roof of my house from here. She has so has so many plants and succulents in her room. At her desk there were crystals lying around and a drawing with pencils scattered all over.
I smell something...
"Do you smoke?" I ask her out of concern.
"No, why?"
"I don't know it smells like something burning and I was thinking since you're kind of a hipp-"
"Don't say it"
"Sorry I just assumed-"
"No it's fine I get it a lot. It's just the smell of an incense burner," she says calmly.
How could I think that an innocent good, girl like Willow smokes pot. She probably thinks I'm an idiot now. It doesn't even smell like it, not like I know how pot smells, but the incense had a hint of lavender.
"It smells really good tho," I say trying to cover it up.
Suddenly a black cat jumps onto my lap.
"That's Salem,"
It feels as if Salem was looking into my soul when his emerald green eyes met mine. He starts purring as I rub him behind his ear.
"He likes you."
After we were done working on the act it was already 6 o'clock and I had to be home soon for dinner or my father would get angry. Honestly I feel like I was more focussed on how cute she looks when explaining things than the actual work. At times we got so off topic and talked about the most random things. I enjoy her company. We always have something to talk about and she always leaves me with a smile on my face.
Before I go home I have to ask her the question...
"Listen, there's a party at Dale's on Halloween night. You wanna come?"
Ryan POV ends
Part of me wanted to say no, but he had so much hope in his eyes that I couldn't disappoint him.
"Sure why not." I say, forcing a smile.
I walked outside the house with him. As we're standing on the porch he pulls me into a hug with his arms wrapped around my waist. I hugged him back tightly with my arms around his neck. We were locked in a warm embrace and I could feel my cheeks getting hot. I didn't know why we were hugging so long, but all I knew was that I didn't want to let go. We then look into each other's eyes. Our faces are inches apart...
"Well see you tomorrow then," I say blushing, probably looking like a red tomato.
