Emily and I ended up falling asleep on couch after a conversation of mindless things. Our hopes, our dreams, our pet peeves, and our favorite movies. I could talk to Emily forever, that's how easily our conversations flowed. It wasn't long before Emily had that fading look in her eyes and laid her head on my shoulder.
I was starting to get tired as well. "You should get some rest, Sweet Heart."
Emily snuggled closer. "I like when you call me that."
I smiled to myself. "I like when you're this close."
"How many other girls have you said that to?"
"None." I answered honestly, kind of surprising myself.
"Sure," Emily humored me.
"No, really." I admitted. "I've never felt like this with anyone else."
"Hmm." She hummed
I knew she was asleep moments later. I was going to carry Emily to bed, but I chose to just stay there for a while. It wasn't long before my eyes shut and I fell into a deep sleep. For the first time in months I slept peacefully through the night. No medication needed.
I groggily blinked my eyes open to sunlight shining through the windows. A bird chirped outside in the early morning. I looked around at unfamiliar surroundings before I realized I fell asleep at Emily's house. I panicked when a head of blonde stirred on my chest. I breathed out in relief, seeing that it was Emily. Sometime during the night we ended up laying down along the couch. I was laying down with the arm rest propping me up slightly and Emily was laying on top of me. I ran a hand through her hair.
"Em, it's time to wake up." I whispered.
She stirred again, but didn't wake.
I sighed. I wanted to stay here for a while longer, but Jem may have realized I didn't come back last night. He'd be worried, or worse, lock me outside and turn the sprinklers on at full blast. I grimaced at the thought.
"Emily?" I said a little louder.
"Five more minutes." She mumbled.
I smiled a little and feigned a sigh. "That's too bad. I really wanted to kiss you."
Her eyes blinked open. "What?"
I chuckled. "Good morning."
Emily rubbed her eyes. "What time is it?"
"I don't know, but I should get going... Jem is probably wondering where I'm at."
Emily hugged me, still laying on my chest. "I don't want you to go."
"I know. I don't want to leave either."
She sat up. "Then stay."
"You know I can't."
She straddled me and wrapped her arms around my neck. "I know... but still."
I tried to change the subject, immediately realizing how she was going to try to persuade me. "Where's Megan?"
"Gone. She's at her boyfriend's house." Emily placed a kiss on my neck and whispered. "She wont be back til the evening."
I shivered. "Uh huh..."
"You're not going to leave me here all alone, are you?"
"You... you can text me, or I'll call you..."
She kissed my neck again, this time nipping at the skin. "It's not as good as having you here."
I held back a groan and gripped her waist. "Emily..." I warned.
