Cough.

Sniff.

Another irritating cough.

Sneeze.

And the procedure repeated all over again.

Shinichi laid his head on his desk momentarily. Closing his Sherlock Holmes book after marking it with a bookmark, he sighed as he folded his arms underneath his chin.

It was a bad day for him. A very tiring bad day. A very very tiring bad day. He woke up very early in the morning (if you count 9 o'clock as early), his beloved coffee had ran out and he didn't get enough sleep.

He then missed his ride to the police station, got kicked out of a crime scene by Megure Keibu because he couldn't focus enough and seems to look like fainting a minute and they didn't let him take home some cold cases.

They even stopped him from coming to the police station for a week. A freakin' week!

His head throbbed painfully. Today is the pain in the ass just like yesterday.

Right. Yesterday~

Apparently he and his boyfriend, an amateur magician extraordinaire, Kuroba Kaito had fought just because he didn't take care of himself better. Kaito's words, to be honest. And he managed to missed their date because a murder had came up.

Or they had already broke up. Whichever goes. Shinichi can't have himself to care anymore. He's very tired, exhausted even. He already told Kaito before they dated that if he can't handle Shinichi's forgetfulness of dates and anniversaries, he better step back a little.

But what did Kaito responded?

"It's okay. I can handle it. Besides, I like watching you do your deductions. It's a nice scene to look at." Kaito smiled brightly.

Right. Let's see if it could last long then. Ran had done the same thing and apparently it's just too much for her to handle. What difference would it make with Kaito? His heart once whispered.

Honestly, who could blame him? He was just helping out. For justice. For good stuff. That date could be set out another day though. He used to forget all this stuff because -

Because he never had any reason to remember. Those dates, he mean. He was used to live all alone. He had long ago threw away his so-called-important birthday date. He was used to being anti-social. Shinichi isn't a person to have romantic dates with or a person to do these romantic stuff together in general. He's just isn't a boyfriend material thing.

Kaito had promised too... Shinichi's heart yearns for Kaito, his boyfriend, his lover, his partner, his soulmate whatever you want to call it.

Kaito had promised... that he would stay no matter what. He promised he wouldn't... be mad at me if I ever forget or... just generally doesn't remember.

Shinichi buried his face in his arms. Trying his best to throw away those feelings. To act like nothing had happened. Nothing had changed.

To act like Kuroba Kaito doesn't even exist Kudo Shinichi's book of life.

It just... hurts too much.
