I woke up, any trust me when I said I nearly peed myself when I woke up.
There were two people standing above me staring down at me.
I jolted up, nearly butting heads with the two. They backed away, I looked at the pair. One was a male, and the other was a female. They were similar in height and in hair color. They
Both were a strawberry blonde, the girls hair was tied back in a tight pony tail while the boys is cut short and shabby looking. The girl had brown eyes, and the boy had green eyes.

"Hey, uh... are you ok?"
The boy asked as he pushed his choppy hair out of his face.

"And who are you and why are you in our backyard?"

"Backyard?"
I sat up and looked around. I was in a large wheat field, in a farthest corner away from a house. The girl folded her arms and slightly glared, she seemed the older one out of the two.

"Who are you?"
She repeated.

"Uh..."
I slowly stood up, and looked around.
"I'm Rose... just a teenager who.."
I looked behind me.
"Just got... hit by a... car?"
I looked back at the two. The girl scolds at me, the boy just blinks a few times.

"Uhh... the road is two miles away from here...." the boy pointed back to the house. "I'm Kyle."

"And I'm Jennifer ."
The girl said right after the boy, like she knew she had to eventually tell me her name.

"Ok, Kyle.. and Jennifer." I rubbed the back of my head.
"Can I borrow your phone?"

"You can come inside the house to borrow our house phone."
Kyle said.

"Well, I don't know if we can really trust you enough to let you inside our house." Jennifer put her hands on her hips, to say she was overprotective would be an understatement.

"True.. could I borrow it through a window or something?"

"Sure!" Kyle nodded, Jennifer rolled her eyes. "Come on, let's head over before the sun sets!"

"Ok."

We walked through the entire wheat field with Jennifer glaring at me every few seconds. She definitely didn't like me, at all. We went up to the house, it was a nice average sized house. With a wrap around porch going around the tan colored house. It had two stories, two windows on each side of the house.
We walked on the porch, Jennifer turned to me.

"Stay here. Don't do anything stupid."
She walked in through the screen door.
Kyle stood there next to me, he slightly smiled.

"Don't worry about her, she's pretty much like a mama bear, though she's my sister."

"Ah.. overprotective..."
Such an understatement. A phone is tossed through a window at me, I of course don't catch it, it hits my arm then my foot. Jennifer stares at me through the window.

"Well? You wanted to use the phone."

"You didn't have to throw it at me!" Annoyed, I picked up the phone and dialed my moms number. It went straight to voicemail, I tried my dad's number, voicemail aswell.

"That's strange... usually my parents would usually answer..." I handed Jennifer the phone and leaned on the wall of the house.

"Maybe their at work?" Kyle questioned.

"Maybe... I'll have to call them later."
I say, nodding at my decision. Kyle nods aswell.

"For now, how about we go inside-"
"Let me call Dad about letting her in first." Jennifer's voice overpowers Kyles, she dials a number and walked to the other side of the kitchen.

"She really doesn't like me... does she?" I look at Kyle.

"she doesn't like a lot of people, besides, you have to earn her trust for her to like you. It's a standard she has.
Though in some magical way she got a boyfriend even with her high standards." He shrugs.

"I see..." I look out at the wheat field, it's beautiful with the sun setting over the forest that lines the back of the large yard. "You know, you have a beautiful home, right?"

"Yeah, we get that a lot!" Kyle smiles.
"It's been passed through generations. Old and dusty but we call it home!"

Home. What an interesting word.
