~Sakura's POV~
Beep. Beep. Beep. Beep. Beep.
I slam my fist down onto my alarm clock and roll over lazily in my bed, shrinking away from the bright sunlight pouring in through my window. I hear someone chuckle from behind me and I'm up and out of my bed in seconds flat. I stand at the ready, my eyes foggy with sleep and fists raised.
The intruder laughs again and puts their hand on my shoulder. "Sakura, it's me."
I blink rapidly to clear the haze and I relax once I can fully see. It's just Ino.
"Oh, hi Ino," I mutter, pushing past her and walking through the open door and into my living room.
She looks at me with an insulted look on her face, "No 'Hey Ino, how are you?' or 'Hey Ino, what ya doin?'."
I shrug and rub my eyes with the heels of my hands. Ino looks me up and down, disgust growing in her features.
"What now?" I sigh.
"You look terrible."
"Wow, thanks," I reply sarcastically and head into the kitchen.
"I'm serious!"
I roll my eyes and yank the fridge open, sadly staring at my pitiful amount of food.
"You need to freshen up," she hesitates. "And move on."
I stop and turn my head towards her, my eyes like daggers. "I really don't need this right now."
"Yes, you do," she walks over and tucks a stray strand of my hair behind my ear. "You're eyes are still puffy from last night. Naruto told me about it."
I groan and slam the fridge shut, swatting away her prying fingers.
She sits and the counter and props her elbows up on the granite surface, resting her chin on her fists. "Naruto isn't wrong. This hurts all of us."
I don't reply, just bite down on my cheek to remain from crying again. Oh I hate memories. I hate crying. I HATE IT ALL!
There's no stopping it now. A tear falls. My shoulders shake with empty sobs. Ino is up and I'm in her arms in an instant.
After the crying subsides, Ino points it out again. "See?"
I nod tiredly, "I guess you guys are right."
"We're not saying that you should stop loving Sasuke all together, but you should keep your options open."
I nod, and Ino grabs my hand, leading me back into my bedroom. "Get dressed," she commands. "Look presentable. We're going out."
"Its like morning still!" I exclaim.
She gives me a quizzical look and gestures at the clock, "It's noon dummy."
I glance up at the ticking circle and gasp. Did I really sleep that long?
Ino exits the room and heads into the living room, making herself comfortable on the couch. I put on my regular pink sandals, light wash capris, and pale green sweater and brush out my pink hair, my eyes catching the small diamond on my forehead in the mirror.
I drop the brush on my bed and bring my fingertips to the small tattoo. Memories come flashing back, and I see myself with the large lines down my face of the healing jutsu. And in comes Sasuke's image, flooding my mind. I look away from the mirror and head out into the living room, receiving a satisfied smile from Ino about my clothing choice.
We don't make it three steps out the door before running into someone. A guy.
A very attractive guy.
Mysteriously attractive, like...Sasuke.
Oh my lord Sakura. You ruin every possible relationship by thinking of Sasuke.
He literally ran into us. We both stumble back, me landing on my butt on the dusty road. He immediately starts blurting words.
"Oh my god Iamsosorry Ididn'tevenseeyouthere Ipromiseitwon'thappenagain!" the dashing male says, quickly extending his hand to help me up. As he moves his arm, his robe falls off his shoulder, revealing his ninja headband, wrapped around his thick bicep. It has the Konoha leaf on it.
I take his hand, his soft hands, and allow him to help me stand. He grabs my shoulder with the other one for extra support as I get to my feet. I dust myself off and smile up at him. He smiles back, but he looks a lot prettier than I do when he does.
From the corner of my eye, I catch Ino smiling, and she sticks her hand out to the guy.
"Hi, I'm Ino. This is my friend Sakura," she greets.
He doesn't look at her as he shakes her hand, he just keeps staring into my eyes.
"Pleasure. I'm Ryuu, but most people just call me Ry," he grins at me, and I find my smile growing too. He's just so...enchanting.
Ino huffs under her breath, clearly displeased with his lack of interest in her. She loops her arm in mine and pulls me to break the gaze. "Sakura, we have got to get going now."
I give her a narrow glance and smile apologetically at Ry, but he shrugs. "I'll see you 'round Sakura. Nice meeting you Ino." And with that he turns and continues walking down the street. I sigh to myself and I swear that I feel Ino rolling her eyes. She turns me around and walks me the other way.
"Well that was fast," she says flatly.
"Yea," I sigh again.
Ino starts blabbing about some market prices after a billboard catches her eye, and I tune her out, my thoughts drifting to Ry.
His platinum hair, strong jaw, bewitching purple eyes. His large black robes that would feel amazing to be wrapped in.
I get snapped out of my thought from a sharp pain in my side. I look to see Ino glaring at me. She must've pinched my side.
"What?" I say.
"Who were you thinking about?" she asks slyly.
I pause. There is a word stuck on the end of my tongue, waiting to fly off like usual.
Sasuke.
I have never really thought about anyone else in the same way. I guess until now. "Ryuu," I reply, moving my stare down to my feet.
A slight gasp escapes her mouth. "Really?"
I nod, feeling ashamed.
"So are you gonna see him again?" she prods. Guilt wracks my heart, and I shake my head.
"No."
"WHAT?!" she shrieks.
I look away from her, "I can't. It's not right."
Ino doesn't say anything. We just turn our separate ways and walk home.
